Basic hotel, old but clean. Accommodating staff, nice enough to have a 4am buffet breakfast prepared for our early departure. Small elevator, wait gets quite long if you chance upon a large group checking in, lobby gets pretty much crowded too. Request for a room in the upper floor-fifth to get a nice ocean view.

Loved staying at this centrally located hotel! Very clean and affordable, with highly professional, friendly staff and a great buffet breakfast. Must make special mention of Jon and Natalia who were always on hand to help if needed. Will definitely stay here again.Highly recommended to everyone!

Although 3 stars this Hotel provided a top five star service. The staff were so friendly and courteous and nothing was too much trouble for them, room always immaculately clean, excellent buffet breakfast we traveled to 5 countries in October and this was by far the best Hotel out of them all.

For a three star hotel this was very good. Great location, great staff who couldn't do enough for you, very good breakfast and in a country not known for being cheap very good value for money. The hotel is just set back from the shore with fantastic views of the mountains in the distance. The rooms are fairly basic but... More

Had 3 nights there in April and found it to be clean, with an excellent buffet breakfast, friendly staff, and close to the town and harbour, with a good choice of bars and restaurants to choose from, and only a few minutes walk along the sea front to the concert hall. In all a comfortable hotel in a great location,... More

Stopped here with my wife Glenys in February 2015 on an Iceland Air trip. You get what is says on the tin, a pleasant and friendly 3 star hotel. The room was comfortable and clean, whilst the buffet breakfast had something for every taste. Its best selling point is location. Just a five minute walk from the main shopping and... More

This hotel is an excellent location just 10/15 minutes walk from the main coach station/harbour and the beautiful Harpa concert hall. There's a supermarket directly behind the hotel and you're just a few minutes walk from the main shopping street. This is the ultra-cool 101 Reykjavik postcode with a plethora of nice bars, restaurants, cafés, galleries and shops. The room... More

We had our last night in Iceland at this hotel. Great location - just beside the main streets of Reykjavik, and yet with good parking facilities. My room was in the preserved part of the hotel, originally put up by a French baron. The furniture was kept in an old-fashioned and beautiful style, giving the room a definitive style. We... More

Fab location. Staff very helpful and friendly. Only complaint we have is the fold out bed was the worst ever slates kept falling out and the mattress was the most uncomfortable thing I have ever slept on. Apart from that the hotel is great. Lovely food and the room was nice and warm. Well worth the money we paid for... More
