We stayed for 5 nights in early February. The hotel is clean, warm and cosy, offering very good range for breakfast. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice bar with "Happy Hour" We had a room at front of the hotel with stunning views of the sea and mountains. Shops, bars and restaurants within easy reach.

We stayed in 2 of the 2 bedroom apartment type units on the second one floor. The rooms flank the elevator and were all but identical except 108, to the right of elevator was a bit smaller. Corner shower, pedestal sink and W/C in large bathroom. Kitchen with small, electric 2 element range, microwave, fridge and sink. As well as... More

We stayed for four nights and found the hotel to be fairly basic but clean and comfortable with extremely helpful staff. Centrally located in Reykjavik and a good choice for a short break but a lack of storage space in the rooms would make longer stays less enjoyable. Hotel only serves a continental breakfast and optional spicy soups in the... More

Stayed in Feb 2016 for 7 nights, the location of the hotel is very good (near the coast, 2 streets from the main high street (good for food and nightlife) but still quiet. 10 mins or so walk to the harbour. Breakfast is the same everyday but of good quality with enough variety to satisfy all (waffles, pastries, cereal, hot... More

The hotel is very close to the city center. Has nice cozy and clean rooms. You walk out right at the bay over looking the mountains. (we dint get the rooms with a view so cant comment on that). The staff is nice and helpful, although they could do with being more aware of the tours attractions in an around... More

The hotel is a bit tired but this is more than made up for by its location, which is 2 minutes walk from either the seafront or the main shopping/restaurant street (Laugevegur). Our room was huge and included a lounge area, a double bed, a dining area (table + 4 chairs), a small kitchen area with cooker, fridge, microwave, toaster,... More

The Hotel was good enough. Big room we had but it wasnt cleaned at all. I found trash and apple-core next to the night table and in the showercabin as well. Anyway reception service is kind and helpful. Comfortable bed... it is close the main street. If I come back to Reykjavik I'd choose this hotel.

We stayed in the Fosshotel Baron for 3nights as a stopover on our way to Washington DC in late November. Iceland was on our bucket list so this was an excellent opportunity to see the island. We were looking for a hotel close to everything but not to costly. The Baron had many positive reviews on trip advisor so we... More

First off, it was only a single-night stay so the property was tolerable. Reykjavik hotels are generally expensive and thus this hotel can be termed a bit economical from that perspective. We were put up in the extended low-storeyed backyard, in a maisonette type room, which wasn't very spacious or well-lit. Amenities are basic. I was told that apartments (and... More
