This is our third visit to Iceland , and the fosshotel baron by far ,has been the best hotel we have stayed in. We were in a period room and it was very nice . Warm and big enough for a short stay . The beds were comfortable and the bathroom although smallish easy enough to use . Water was... More

We stayed here for 4 nights. Staff are very helpful and friendly...helped us book a couple of restaurants and rearranging tours due to bad weather cancellations. Only issue was the single thin quotes on the double bed. It was quite cold and these didn't really suffice although admittedly I didn't ask for a blanket so they have been able to... More

A great place to stay in Reykjavik. It's centrally located and most excursion companies offer pick ups for this hotel. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet offered a large selection of cereals, breads, pastries, meats, cheeses, yogurts, eggs and even pickled fish for the stronger stomachs in the morning. We stayed in what must... There are so many great things about this hotel. First of all the Front desk staff was so helpful, during my stay my credit card wasn't working and I needed to make a collect call. I asked the front desk how to make an international collect call (in canada you just dial 0, not the case in Iceland) But neither... More

My husband and I stayed here in early December for three nights. We found the hotel staff very pleasant and helpful. Staff were quick to tidy up and replenish low (or even not so low!) stock during breakfast and there was a great buffet choice. We arrived three days after the first heavy snowfalls and the hotel was extremely warm,... More

I was given a really big room on the 2nd floor with a balcony that has the view of the sea & the mountain. Comes with a kitchen, microwave, toaster & cooking utensils too. No toiletries provided except shower gel from a dispenser but that was fine with me since i always bring my own. The beds are ok. The... More

Great location, close to bay & close enough for short walk to main shopping area while being quiet at night. Lovely breakfast with varied choice & bedrooms quite nice, overall basic yet clean. Would choose this hotel again in any future holiday in Reykjavik. Receptionists extremely helpful with regard to tours, especially suggesting alternative activities when all tours were cancelled... Stayed here through a tour booking - rooms were 'cozy' -- SMALL, and bathroom took some coordination not to soak the floor when taking a shower. But in the meantime, they had a room for us when we arrived at 7:30am, the breakfasts were outstanding and the people here were very nice. Free wi fi was great also!

Don't be put off by the rather stark exterior...what lies inside more than makes up for it. We have just returned from a four night break to Reykjavik, staying at the Baron, and it was absolutely spot on. Our room at the front was large, warm and cosy, complete with kettle and drinks tray ( which reception filled up for... More

I would most definitely recommend Fosshotel Baron to anyone. Rooms are clean, fairly spacious, breakfast choice is fantastic. The room I stayed in had TV set as well as kettle and choice of teas and coffee if anyone fancied making one themselves. They also serve soup and a breadroll after 5pm and that's only 950 ISK. Staff are ever so... More
