I can't really add much to the other recent reviews on this site, but felt I had to compliment the hotel and staff. We paid for an upgrade to an Ocean view room as it was our wedding anniversary and it had a full length balcony overlooking the bay ( room 300). Like others, we were so lucky to see... More

A very well run hotel. Rooms are basic but clean, comfy and very warm, we had to turn radiator off at times. Breakfast is plentiful and varied. There is soup and rolls in the evening at a small price, which is useful if you have been out all day and eaten a meal at lunchtime. Reception staff are very helpful... More

We were moved here from an overbooked Best Western Hotel Reykjavik, a move which I've slated on their forum as we didn't need that on our 25th Wedding Anniversary. Because of this we had not looked at photos or reviews and it's unfair for me to compare this hotel to the one we originally booked as that isnt the Hotel... More

Basic but clean, friendly and very helpful staff and decent breakfast choices. Happy hour 5-7pm is a good chance to meet other guests. Bathroom small but beds very comfortable and heating can be turned up or down as required. Booked through icelandair and had flybus plus transfers which all go via their depot and you may have to change buses.

We went on a four night trip with Icelandair, and cannot fault it to be honest. Transfers, trips, rooms, assistance, breakfast, cleanliness, comfy beds and nearness to the centre were all seamless and as described in the blurb. The reception, cleaning and kitchen/waiting staff were all very efficient whilst being calm and at ease, which rubbed off on us British... More

We stayed here on our visit to Iceland and were very pleased with the hotel. The breakfasts were excellent with plenty of choice. The rooms warm and the beds comfortable. We paid extra for a sea view room, which was well worth it for us, not only did we have a lovely view, but we were lucky enough to see... More

We checked for a long weekend in February and, having stayed in other hotels in Reykjavik, we were very pleasantly surprised given the price. We had a room at the front of the hotel with a balcony offering waterfront views. The room was spacious and had a kitchenette and lounge area. The shower in the bathroom had amazing pressure, which... More

Just back from a three night break organised by Icelandair. The hotel used was the Baron which was lovely. We had room 207 which was in effect a studio with cooker fridge etc. The room was spacious , clean with comfortable beds and most importantly warm. It is located one street away from the sea front and two streets away... More

Stayed 4 nights and could not really fault the hotel. Excellent value and we paid little extra for sea view. Worth it as we got a huge corner room 516..small bathroom but no big deal. Plenty hot water and lovely and warm with comfortable beds. The breakfast was excellent. .always replenished and lovely and fresh with plenty of choice. The... More

Stayed here as part of package booked via Icelandair. We booked a shared shuttle via Gray Line from the airport to the hotel, which was no stress at all and the Gray Line staff were very helpful. The hotel is in a great location, 5 minutes walk from the harbor and the sun sculpture. If you come out of the... More
