We stayed here as part of an Iceland Air package and it was absolutely fine. I was very pleased that we had not upgraded to the Hilton which is much further out of town. Our room was perfectly adequate and the ensuite a lesson in how to get a shower, loo and sink into a small area. Everything was very... more

As we were at the Baron as part of a package holiday I wasn't sure what we'd get. But I found the hotel staff friendly, the breakfast lovely and the room small but comfortable (one of the 'historical rooms' in the old wing that is actually above the supermarket!) The site was great - just across from the harbour and... more

In a great location, just 2 blocks north from the main highstreet and overlooking the bay and the mountains, the Fosshotel is more than reasonable. The two rooms we had were large and had mini-kitchens, the bathrooms were also large. It doesn't have the conveniences of a 3* (no hair dryer, no iron, no tea/coffee etc.) but for £229 for... more

The Baron is tucked away in a nice little location, overlooking the seafront and just 2 blocks from Laugavegur (the city's main shopping street) and a further 10 minutes walk into downtown Reykjavik. If I was to be extremely picky I would have preferred the hotel to be closer to Austrovollur Square due to its' proximity to the good restaurants... more

The Fosshotel Baron is in a good location in Reykjavik and has ample parking, one computer in the lobby with free internet, a mostly helpful staff, an elevator, a shoe shine machine, a continental breakfast, and really small showers. The hotel is clean and comfortable, though the rooms are very basic, with a closet, chair, phone, TV, and a hair... more

We stayed here for 3 nights and overall were pleased with the hotel. The room was clean and spacious, and so was the bathroom. The breakfast had plenty of choice of herring, cold cuts, cereals, and nice selection of coffee. The hotel has free parking for the guests which we found very convenient. The only negative side would be the... more

I had a reservation at a different hotel and moved here because of overbooking on the first one. The guy in reception has a clear attitude problem, seems to be bothered by questions. The girls in reception were all very helpful, and would book trips and taxis for us, book tables for dinner, etc. The hotel is 10 minutes walk... more

I just spent three nights at the Baron (Icelandair package). Clean, comfortable, basic accommodations - good value, no complaints whatsoever. I checked in around 7:30 a.m. after an overnight North American flight and was assessed no early check-in fee. Tours can be booked easily with the desk staff. There is also a computer with complimentary Internet access in the lobby... more

Booked this hotel as a package from Icelandair. We arrived at the hotel at 7:30am and were told that checkin was at 4:00pm or if you prefer you can pay $30 to check in early (whatever). The hotel is very clean and the staff goes out of their way to take care of your requests. The location was very close... more
