Hostel was good. Nice rooms. Good communal areas. Lots of info. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Great pool next door. Breakfast good. Only downside is that the hostel is 3 miles or so from downtown Reykjavik. But there is a bus which stops outside hostel. Would recommend

I really enjoyed this hostel. The rooms are good sized with cubbies for your smaller things. The bathrooms are pretty clean, definitely have shower shoes though. I still wouldn't touch my feet bare on them. Kitchens are readily available and they provide a lot for you. The common area is wonderful, they had a movie night for one of the... More

Perfect distance from city center and right next door to best thermal pool in Reykjavik. Staff was super friendly and helped me track down a lost credit card. Typical hostel amenities were all included except breakfast wasn't free, which is why I didn't give 5 stars. Like all things in Iceland, the hostel and breakfast were not particularly cheap, but... This is the best hostel i've stayed in. Staff are very helpful and friendly, the hostel is spotlessly clean and the breakfasts are good. The swimmingpool is very close. It's a bit of a walk from the town centre but that wasn't a problem.

Enjoyable stay spent here. Brand new facilities being completed while I was there. Very friendly and helpful staff in both the campsite reception and the City Hostel reception which adjoins this campsite. Bus route directly outside, but it's a nice 25 min coastal walk to the city centre. Possible to hire bikes at hostel too. Good economic option as rooms... More

The Reykjavik city hostel, is part of the youthhostel organisation. It is a very spacious hostel, and very frendly for backpackers and familys with small children. Has a nice free kitchen, a big garden, and is at walking distance to the city swimmingpool. From the airport you can be dropped off here by the shuttle bus

I stayed here one night during my time in Reykjavik. It is a pretty nice hostel with great amenities-lockers in the room, parking, nice common area and kitchen, good wifi, and a cafe. It was a good value for the price. It's a bit outside of the city center, but there is a bus stop right across the street and... More

They try to upsell everything from a towel to bed sheets. They aren't accommodating if you want to change rooms (in this case to be with my travel partner) and the beds are absolutely horrible even for hostel standards.

This is a busy busy campsite. I enjoyed the wifi and showers and the helpful reception . There was always one unclean toilet, perpetually slimy showers and pink mold around the taps. End result I now have athletes foot. I only slept about 5 hours a night as people make noise till1:00am and get up at 6:00 am. It is... More

stayed here for three nights - the first room I got was awfully stinky, the bathroom smelled like piss, and someone stole my clothes from the drying line in the laundry. The good parts are the hostel is roomy, next door to the big swimming pool, and the kitchen facilities are good. Conveniently close to bus stop but be aware... More
