I agree with most that has been said here, Staff friendly, small but adequate rooms, linen clean etc. However I would not book excursions via the Iceland Air site as they are to be found cheaper in the hotel, ask for advive form the knowledgable staff, We saved 2850ISK each on Blue Lagoon via Bustravel.{thats £16 each} all operators pick... My friend and I stayed at the Hotel Cabin as part of a Northern Lights weekend package she'd booked with IcelandAir. We had booked a basic twin room and were not disappointed. I expected something basic and clean and that is what I got. The room was very small but perfectly formed, with two comfortable beds, a TV and an... More

Myself and my wife were accompanied by my daughter and son-in-law. We found that in the Cabin Hotel the rooms are cabin size (approx 8 feet x 8 feet) and walls are 'paper-thin'. Luckily we didn't have noisy neighbours but my daughter and son-in-law staying farther down the corridor did. On complaining, the staff were most helpful and spoke with... More

My friends and myself stayed at this hotel for 6 days, The rooms are small but just enough if you are not looking for luxury knowing the price is not too expensive in an expensive country and the breakfast is fairly ok.Clean and the location is not too far away from the city centre by bus but can be consider... as other reports state the standard rooms are small, so don't share, but lets face it, you want to get changed and sleep in it, for which they were quite adequate. Beds were comfortable and rooms warm. Bathroom was spotless and the shower was brilliant, endless hot water and lots of it. All the icelandic staff were friendly and spoke... More

On arriving at hotel we were checked in by a friendly man with great ease. Once we opened hotel room we both looked at each other and laughed as i cannot remember ever staying in such a tiny room. ok we were hardly ever in it but even the sink i could not even wash in it as that cramped... More

I stayed here as part of a package from Icelandair in January. I upgraded to a better room immediately on arrival as the single standard room was very small indeed with a single bed much smaller than normal size, pressed right against a wall with a plastic shelf on it and the room was quite old / ugly. The cost... More

Standard twin room was compact, had basic facilities, larger rooms were available at a supplement; room was warm, clean and beds were comfortable. A longer stay than our 3 nights would probably have necessitated a move to a larger room. Continental Breakfast was good and plentiful, staff were excellent, spoke good English, and were helpful with advice which allowed us to... More

I got a single on 3rd floor. Great view over seafront. Silence, in spite of busy road below. Room was plenty big enough. No remote for TV made it hard to operate. Had a prob with wi fi but that can happen anywhere. Food OK, Other patrons were great and staff helpfull and friendly. More

We stayed here as part of a package from Icelandair and stayed in January when the hotel had a strange quietness to it. We upgraded to the superior rooms and got a lovely view across the bay to the mountains beyond. We also got a very quiet nights sleep as we were the only people staying on the 7th floor.... More
