This is better for business travel, or student tours than tourists. The breakfast was quite good, with lots of choices and great cheeses and "health" shakes- smoothies. As flights usually arrive in the morning and you can't check in until 2pm this hotel location was not great. I would suggest either making an appointment AHEAD OF TIME at the spa... More

We arrived late this afternoon only to be told by a young man on reception that they had double booked our room. He told us they had already booked us a room at their sister hotel in the town centre, I told him I'd booked the hotel due to it having a spa and a mountain view. He assured me... More

Standard business hotel which has seen better days. Helpful reception staff but very dated decor and catering.Truly awful buffet in the evening...expensive and like a 1990's carvery, with food drying out and congealing under heat lamps, in a dangerous luke warm environment. Location is fine ; a bit out of centre but an easy, quite interesting walk past town lake. OK... More

This hotel was fab! Had everything you needed nothing was to much, very helpful staff and gave great advice. I will be returning to this hotel as we were unlucky to get to see the lights. Every excursion we went in we were picked up from the hotel. It's a 10-15 min walk to the town but you can get... More

LOCATION & ATTRACTIONS NEARBY *** Located approx. 2 km from the central Reykjavik, in a quiet residential area. Also not that far from major roads and bus station. There is large, complimentary car park attached to this hotel, so you wouldn’t have any problems finding space for your car. HOTEL OVERVIEW *** From outside it looks like old, simple building... I have lead with location as this, I feel, is quite a factor depending on season. The hotel is some 15 mins walk from town which is probably fine in warmer months but with several inches of snow and winds below freezing a 15 min walk is not appealing, especially in a snow storm (which we did!) - although you... The only good thing about this hotel is that we were able to check in early since our flight arrived from the states early. Front desk was also helpful. the rooms were small, twin beds uncomfortable. stained walls, stained fridge, no microwave. the shower head made my skin crawl. The daily service was bad there is no carpet in rooms,... More

The hotel is very pleasant but quite a long way from the centre. Walking would take 15 minutes but in blizzard conditions this was not very favourable. We got taxis into town which arrive regularly outside the hotel and cost about £10.00 each way. The breakfast was great but there was no vegetarian food available in any of the hotel... More

Cons: Location- This hotel was about a mile (1.5km) from where everything is happening in downtown Reykjavik. it was about $10 cab rid to go that mile, so not cheap! I opted to walk once I got my way around but that was in blizzard conditions twice, because i was too cheap to pay someone to drive me 1 mile.... More

Stayed here with my sister in February. The hotel is slightly out of Town - 10-15 minute walk. Which is ok but in the bad weather it meant tending to stay in the hotel and eat in the evening. We ate in the hotel three times, food was very nice but the service in the restaurant was very slow. We... More
