We stayed here for almost a week, having been booked in as part of our holiday package. The first thing to note is that our booking stated "Park Inn by Radisson". Fortunately, I knew that the hotel was now called Hotel Island, but could otherwise have been driving round in circles trying to find it! Parking was readily available on... More

Went to Reykiavik last week and stayed at Hotel Island excellent breakfast plently of fruit to take away for lunch staff were happy to fill a flask of hot water or tea, very helpful and trips to the local sights like that of The Golden Circle or Blue Lagoon could be booked at reception, bar area was not very lively,... The hotel was very nice although it was still under construction. The front desk staff (especially Frank) was very welcoming and helpful. We had a renovated room that was spacious and clean. The free wifi in the room was very strong. The breakfast had a great selection. The hotel's location is about 7 minutes from the city centre by car.... More

This is a large hotel bit far from city center. So, if you are not renting a car, travelling can be a problem. There is free parking on road. The room was spacious. Initially got a room with 3 separate beds but then we requested a double + 1 bed which they accommodated. From one side of hotel, the view... More

Our stay in this hotel - although it is not located in the center of the city, but just 3 bus stops away from downtown - was a pleasure. It was our first time in Iceland, and the stuff at the hotels desk was amazing - very helpful, intelligent and friendly. Thank you, guys, for all the help you gave... More

Hotel was clean and comfortable although it was still under construction. Staff was really nice and helpful. Room was spacious and clean. There was free wifi in the room which worked fine. Breakfast was satisfactory. Hotels location is good, it took about 5-10 minute drive to Reykjaviks city centre. There is free parking in front of the hotel. I would... More

Me, my wife and my daughter staid at Hotel Island for 4 nights in july 2015. We had an very pleasant time. Everything worked out great, good breakfast, nice department and polite and helpful staff made our stay comfortable. Cant find anything to complain about. The location of the hotel is perfect, close to the biggest swimming pool, Laugardagslaug, and... More

The only reason to give four rather than five stars is that there was construction and renovations going on. It was very minimal disturbance or dust...very good breakfast of breads, cheese, eggs, bacon(not crispy enough for me), vegetables, yogurts, cereals, jams, cold cuts, fruit...the location was convenient to drive to the city center. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The... More

First off: we only stayed one night and it was booked through a Travel Agent, so my review is purely based on that. The hotel is not slap bang in the center of Reykjavik but you can't blame a hotel for it's location. The city center is a 30 minute walk away. The reception currently overpromises on the rest of... Staff were friendly and helpful! Rooms were comfortable and clean. Brekkie had everything from toast to eggs & cereal, fresh fruit, teas, coffee and juices. Only a short walk to city centre. Maybe needed a referb but otherwise would stay there again!
