There is good and bad with this hotel, therefore it is just average. First the good things: The spa is fantastic. Nina is a wonderful massage therapist, just tell her what you want and she listens. The ambiance in the spa is terrific and I had a day pass with my junior suite, so I could use the hot tubs... More

We stayed here for seven nights as a couple. The hotel is hub lots of tour groups. Our stay was entirely leisurely and here are some cons v pros: Cons: 1. Location - at least 20 min walk from downtown Reykjavik or 1500kr - 1700kr for taxi. The hotel provides a free one way in town only shuttle bus three... More

Very nice and clean. The lobby bar was expensive. We'd stayed on the new wing but since we were on the 3rd floor, there wasn't much of a view. The bathroom has a glass shower door that swing back and forth (a design that I've never seen before). Also, it has a water heated rack for drying laundry and towel... More

Stayed there the first night of our tour of Iceland. Fantastic hotel. Very clean, good gym, great breakfast, super-friendly staff. We have one more night there on the way out and I'm looking forward to it (although not to the end of our Iceland trip - this country is amazing). One star detracted because my room faced the lobby which... More

We were recently at this hotel for in total 4 nights - we were travelling as a couple. It is a very popular hotel for tour groups and there were at least 3 bus loads every night. This led to problems - the breakfast buffet in the morning is a zoo - they all need to leave a certain time... More

A pretty good hotel on the edge of the city. Rooms are plain, but functional, and conference facilities are excellent. Front desk staff really helpful. Probably a better hotel for business than for tourists.

This really is a hotel to recommend. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the reception area comfortable and spacious. There was a bistro and a bar close to the reception, so you could choose between dining there or in the elegant restaurant. There were quiet spots around on the different floors, where we could sit and chat before... More

We stayed two nights in April 2013. The staff were very nice but the head waiter for dinner was just so good. We are travelling a lot and this is one of the various hotels we have stayed in the just worked and nothing was outstanding other than the staff. The only disappointment really we they said we could have... More

I stayed at the Grand Hotel for four days in May and it was amazing! Check-in was really fast and staff super nice. Our room was one the 11th floor, so we had amazing views. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Bathroom also very spacious and has a seperate shower and bathtub. We visited the spa on the first day and... More

First of all let me explain that I don't know the cost of staying at the Grand, as we were originally booked into the Cabin hotel. When we arrived at the Cabin they informed us that they were over booked and would we mind upgrading to the Grand at no extra cost.......Result! The hotel has 300 rooms and I think... More
