We were very happy with our stay here. The owner was very pleasant and helpful. The place is kept very clean. We had a pretty spacious room with large wardrobe and sofa and the kitchen is well equipped with a self serve breakfast included.the old harbour/ town center are 10-15 mins walk away. You can be picked up for tours... More

We stayed at Athena Guesthouse for our fist night in Reykjavik. We arrived at 2 a.m. and were greeted with a warm and friendly welcome from Egill, our host there. He was more than eager to help us with our most pressing issues (finding a rental car, where to get supplies, etc. )! The beds were cosy, the rooms were... More

So glad we found this place. It's in a great location - less than 10 minutes to all the bars & restaurants. The owner is super friendly & helpful - he gave lots of good suggestions of where to go in Iceland. The rooms were clean & comfortable & the self-serve breakfast was terrific. Bed & breakfast in Reykjavik for... More

We stayed at Athena Guesthouse our first night in Reykjavik, our first night in Iceland, in mid May 2014. The guesthouse occupies the main floor of a two story building. We were happy and lucky, as it was not yet high season, to be able to have an early check in as our plane had arrived early in the morning.... More

We stayed at Athena Guesthouse our first night in Reykjavik, our first night in Iceland, in May, 2014. Egill, our host, gave us a very warm welcome, and went out of his way to be helpful to us. His English was excellent. We were happy, and fortunate to be able to have an early check in as our flight had... More

I stayed at Athena Guesthouse for a week in July 2012. It is located in a quiet residential neighbourhood a short walk to the hub of Reykjavik. It is also a short walk to the seaside and a beautiful walking trail. Breakfast is included otherwise it is self catering. Luckily there is a small grocery store up the street where... More

Athena guesthouse was an unexpected jewel in our trip to Iceland - when we first decided to book rooms there, we were a little bit nervous about what it was going to be like staying at a private guesthouse, instead of a larger hotel, as we usually do during travel, but our anxiety was laid to rest as soon as... I stayed in Athena guesthouse in August 2012. It is about a 10minute walk to the main town and is situated in a quiet neighbourhood. So it is a great location. The guesthouse is spotless! That is one of the main things I am fussy about when it comes to accommodation but this place was really nice. Even though the... More
