This is a beautiful hotel with art deco style at every turn. I had a superior room which was on the corner of the third floor with views over the church and the square. Great amenities in the room with a designer sofa, robes and slippers, a safe and rainhead shower plus (a boon for us Brits), a kettle and... More

One of the best Art Deco hotels we have stayed in (my partner is very into this) We did not realise how central the hotel is, 5 mins either way will see you at the harbour, shops or the main coach stop where the airport buses set down. The staff were more then helpful at every request and even though... More

The three nights spent at the Borg were comfortable and quiet, despite having a room that overlooked Austurvollur Square ( it can be seen on the following webcam. http://www.livefromiceland.is/webcams/austurvollur/ ). This is a busy area during the daytime with traffic and also has late night partying. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful, often asking if help... More

We stayed here after our booked hotel over booked its rooms. We had a suite-lovely and large with great bathroom and views over the city. The location is great-just a few steps from the centre, harbour, bus terminal. Great restaurants on same street and 24 hour supermarket in next street. We got drinks there and avoided overpriced mini bar. Sadly, no bar... More

A lovely Art Deco hotel with a long history. We stayed in one of the suites on the top floor a decent sized room with plenty of light and a view of the Opera house and cathedral. Superb shower in the bathroom with plenty of hot water. Expensive mini bar - however as the staff pointed out there is a... More

We recently spent two nights at Hotel Borg. Very pleasant small establishment right in the middle of everything. Rooms were nice and large (for an urban European hotel), the staff and service were terrific and the location was great. Did I mention location? A block from the Althing and two blocks from the shopping district. Restaurants and clubs a-plenty. We... More

We arrived early. The staff was very accommodating. We went for breakfast while they made up the room which was lovely. Great view of the square. They helped us make local calls when there was some confusion with our arrangements. Great location. Very comfortable. Breakfast was good with a wide variety. Actually it was one of the better buffets we... More

I loved our stay at the Borg. The location is perfect with all the nice eateries such as apotek, fish market and Gandhi just nearby. It's also a convenient 5 minute walk from the harbour and the main shopping strip. The rooms are tastefully decorated and come with all the amenities. The restaurant was closed when we went, but the... More

We recently stayed at the Borg for four nights. Centrally located well appointed. Pity no restaurant or room service. Only criticism was it was too warm. Rooms and bathrooms overheated with limited ability to control the heat. Staff friendly but didn't go out of their way to offer advise or assistance. Perhaps the Icelandic and Nordic way - a little... More

This was our first trip to Iceland and Hotel Borg made a perfect base. It is centrally located and a short walk to most of Reykjavik's sights. Our hotel room was dual aspect with lovely views of Austurvollur Square. Both the room and bathroom were a good size, nicely decorated and clean. It was warm with controllable heating, and had...
