I booked a trip and had all my friends in my group of 9 confirm their airfare, and we all assumed things were set for a nice vacation. After being charged on my Credit Card the owner days later tells me he is double booked and asked me to contact the office for a refund. First overbooking is a problem... More

VERY spacious rooms in modern "IKEA"-style. Kitchenette adequate but lacking exhaust (whole hotel stinking when someone fried fish). Bathroom OK but nor very big. Price was LESS than an equally centrla located guesthouse with tiny room, shared bath and toilets but including standard breakfast. Extremely centrally located - brillian bakery at main street 100 m away - supermarket some 200... More

Stayed here for only one night since we split our visit to Reykjavik with a stop in Southern Iceland. If I would do it again, I would stay here two nights first then move on simply because since these are truly more like apartments with a full kitchen and lots of space (couch area as well) it would have been... The apartment was very clean, with plenty of space. We had a beautiful kitchen with a door leading out to our private patio which was awesome. The views were good, but would have been better without the cranes the next lot over, but that's not the apartment's fault. It was a little toasty inside when we first got there but... More

The property is really well situated, close to the major sights. The parking is very poor. The only option is behind the building, but at present behind the building has only enough parking for a 3 vehicles. The other option is to park on the streets, but if it is during the weekend, the streets are full. If you are... More

I love this place, no one hasseling you with stupid questions when checking in, everything is done with a codes and is really good when you want to relax and not be bothered. Good location and clean rooms, although smelly geothermal water is something to get used to.

This hotel (which has no front desk or reception) is in a good location close to Laugavegur Street (1 minute walk) and is reasonably comfortable and well heated. However, it is smaller than other equivalents in Reykjavik (we also stayed at Fosshotel Baron) and you "can't even swing a cat" in the bathroom (i.e. it is tiny). The internet in... More

I laughed when I realised that several other guests have renamed this hotel 'Unwelcome Apartments' so at least I know that I'm not the only one who feels that the welcome (or lack of it) was absolutely terrible. I travel frequently and without doubt this accommodation has been voted the worst reception ever. I stayed for a few nights and... More

Welcome Apartments are centrally located in RVK and super accessible off all the major streets. Parking is a bit of a mess, but you don't necessarily need a car when staying in the city. I imagine the rooms aren't too bad in general, but we seemed to have gotten a buggy flat - the lights in the kitchen flickered constantly,... More

We stayed at Welcome Apartments in early May, making the reservation a good two months in advance. As some have mentioned here and elsewhere, there is no front desk (though a nice manager-type) but we got our code for the door and to access an apartment key box a good week in advance. The room was as described, very clean... More
