I stayed at Grettisborg Apartments with my family in mid October 2014. There were four adults staying in our apartment (Grettisborg Apartments did indicate that it slept four adults) and it was not comfortable. I would have enjoyed my stay much more if there was only two adults in the apartment. The "pull out sofa" was awful. I did not... More

We stayed 5 nights in Apt. 6, a superior one bedroom suite on the top floor. We were pleased with every aspect of our experience with Grettisborg Apartments. The building is small, quiet and centrally located. It is immaculate in appearance and upkeep. The unit is compact but well-equipped and comfortable. The style is under-stated and modern. Management was friendly... More

My family stayed at the Grettisborg during our six day stay in Iceland in late May. The location is perfect--walking distance to the main strip and relatively easy to find parking. We stayed on a ground floor apartment, which was quiet and comfortable for the four of us. The kitchen was fully equipped, and it was nice to be able... More

My second favorite hotel in our Scandinavian Trip. I feel secured staying here because of the neighborhood. The hotel is very near to the city center. Walking distance to the Penis Museum, the shopping street, Harpa Convention Center and a lot more. We cooked our meals most of the time. We bought our ingredients at the convenience store near the... We only stayed one night on a layover, but enjoyed the location and apartment considerably. We really enjoyed the geothermal heated floors! The kitchen is small and the overall amenities here are limited, but it was clean, safe and comfortable. The staff was very quick to respond to any questions we had. An idea launching pad to shops and restaurants... More

We stayed in 53 Grettisgata which is a stand alone house in front of the apt building. It was clean and set up well for 2 couples or a small family. Had a kitchen with fridge, microwave, dishwasher. Main living space with sofa, TV, dining table and writing desk. Small bedroom on main floor. Down a spiral staircase were 2... More

Our apartment for a family of two adults and two children was small but made efficient use of space. It was nicely situated one block south of the main Laugarvegur shopping street that leads toward downtown Reykjavik. I'm fascinated by the little Reykjavik houses in the area with their corrugated-metal exterior walls. Meals in restaurants in Iceland can be pricey,... More

Everything a tourist would want in Reykjavik -- restaurants, bars, shopping, museums -- is within walking distance. Laudasvegur, the adjacent street, is a great walk. Since you'll be spending your time outside, it doesn't matter that the apartment is a bit tight for space. The wifi access is excellent, and the television has access to many English channels (unlike most... More

We stayed 3 nights in apartment 8. It was perfect for our family of four (2 adults + 2 children). Spacious, cool decorated, fully equipped etc. I wanted to take the whole apartment with me and make it my new home.  And apart from being so great in it self, it is also very close to main shopping and dining... This apartment fit our needs well: 2 adults and 2 children. The location was great as we could walk downtown to restaurants and the grocery store, as well as shopping. Laundry was available, although we didn't take advantage of it. Keep in mind that these are next door to the home of the owner, so there is not a "reception"... More
