I have to second the previous reviewer's description of the door and rude manager. According to the booking site reykjavikhotels.org, "CHECK IN PROCEEDURE: After you arrive in Iceland, if possible 1 hour before you arrive at the guesthouse, please call duty manager on (+354 6926671) or (+354 6626073) Alternative phone number: (+354 4962000)" So, we had our previous hotel call... The entrance door is hard to open, from either inside or outside. We were trying to go out but could not open the door. After enough attempts, we gave up and decided to ask the mid-aged lady who worked there for help. She came to the door, appearing quite annoyed, but did open the door for us, and then said... More

Iceland is crazy expensive. The peace house is much cheaper, has lots of natural light, multiple kitchens, lounge rooms and great room. the only catch is it would be best to have a car as it is located out in a residential area. We had a car and just went down to the supermarket to get dinner and brought it... More

This property is a way out of town. Approx. 5 km. - 10 minute drive. We had a rental car so this was not an issue. There was a little confusion on arrival as there was no one to check us in. We happened to meet a couple who were staying there as well and they helped us sort things... More

You need a car for this place. The supermarket isn't walking distance and just found the place quite strange. Long way from the centre of town so nice and quiet. Host is very friendly. Coffee machine was good but wouldn't stay here again.

We stopped here for one night before heading to the airport, its basically a huge house that has been divided up into a number of rooms. The lady that runs it is really friendly. Location was quite good for us, its not signposted very well as its in a residential housing area but our satnav took us straight there, about... More

Really excellent place to stay. Staff were very helpful and the rooms were both clean and tidy. A nice informal atmosphere about the place. Although the place was a little tricky to find it was a very quiet place to stay.

Not really easy to find in Reykjavik, this big house is divided in 4 parts. The kitchen well equiped is shared, but each part got is own bathroom. The room we booked was for 4 people : me, my wife, and my 2 daughters. My bed was large and comfortable. But my daughters slept in horrible sofa which let you... More

If you would like a full kitchen, don't mind sharing a bathroom with other travelers, and don't mind taking the bus into town, OR you have a car, then this may be the right place for you. They also have a washer and dryer, but you are not supposed to use it when people are sleeping at night. There is... More

We stayed one night (2 adults and 2 kids) on our way in. It is an old house converted into a guest house. So it is in a residential neighborhood, has a fully equipped kitchen, cosy common spaces and WiFi access. It is like staying as a guest in a stranger's house. It is not cheap (~200 Euros, or US...
