I had a great experience here and spent several nights here. The downstairs bar was a great meeting place, the facilities were overall clean. I stayed in a room with 6 bunks total. The hostel is on the Main Street so ear plugs are needed at night. The wifi was really inconsistent and there is no kitchen facility, but I... More

I stayed there in a private room. Although the location is ideal, the private room was situated in the rear and was difficult to socialize with the rest of guests. Moreover there was no Wi-Fi connection and was difficult to stay in touch with family and friends. The room was not tidied up during all my stay. The staff was... More

Though it was clean and the bar area was great in the evening for socialising easily, as it is popular with locals and the guests, the hostel itself lacked actually being a hostel. It gave you the bare minimum as the staff where allocated for bar work and providing for the guest. There was a lack of space separate to... More

Great bar downstairs and good location if you're looking to party. If not, it'll be noisy, kitchen was shockingly small and horribly under-equipped, bathrooms were decently clean, rooms were just ok. Stayed in a 4bed dorm room and wasn't much space for everyone's things.

I visited the hostel during June planning to spend a few days. It was my second time at the hostel and I expected good things. The location was great and the atmosphere good. Unfortunately it appears the hostel has remained as it was last year. Time has moved on and the hostel is in need of an upgrade. Firstly there... More

Stayed for 3 nights in June. The hostel was very busy. Bar on the ground floor showing the World Cup. Got packed out as its open to non guests. Stayed in a 4 bed dorm where there was not a lot of room to store your clothes. I had a problem with the dorm door. It was basically bust which... More

When you try to check it turned out that there is no free second room. Service performed a large number of calls and we were transferred to another place - definitely a higher standard and board - estimate so that its action in such situations as very good.

Backpackers has a great location and an incredibly friendly and accommodating staff. They have free lockers (with deposit), and nice amenities - all the bathrooms, showers, etc are private, and there is a kitchen and roof terrace. The daily rate is also decent. The downside is that there aren't really places to socialize apart from the bar, and the bar... More

I stayed in the guesthouse and had a great little room. Reception was great and super helpful. My room wasn't ready when I checked in, which was a bit of a bummer as I was super tired after my flight. But they apologized and got the room ready ASAP. Only really big downside was the loud music that was being... More

The hostel is pretty much in the center of Iceland's capital. As we checked in quite late we got good rates. So it was a real bargain. The room was tidy with not much in there. But then, what do you really need in a downtown hostel? Staff is friendly and knows where to eat and party!
