I got here without knowing that the Airwaves music festival was just began. And I just booked a night in the Dom . I have intention to stay longer since could not form a group of four to do self driving on the ring road , everyone was so attracted by the concerts and the dom was like fully booked... More

My friend and I went for a very short 2 night stay in Reykjavik Downtown Hostel, and even though it was short i would still rate it to one of my best holidays of all time! The hostel itself has everything you need, and for £20 a night who's complaining! We stayed in a 10 bed dorm, the beds were... More

The bed is comfortable and the room is quite spacious. The wifi is free, the reception works 24h and there is a kitchen where you can prepare your own food. The staffs are friendly and the location is perfect! Very central!

I booked a room at this hostel several years ago and when I arrived, I paid for my reservation. The room was booked as a single room for four nights. I paid the rather surly attendant and checked my receipt. It was for a dorm room. When I explained this to the increasingly maddening desk attendant she merely shrugged. I... More

Christopher, I am really sorry you had a bad experience. I checked now all details to see what might have happened several years back but I did not come across this incident or your booking nor does this match with our booking policy or complaint register. All opinions are very important to improve our services. Of course mistakes might happen... More

After a 10-days trip around Iceland we dare say that this is one of the best hostels in the whole country, and it also comes with bed-linen included and a breakfast full of local products (absolutely try the fresh yogurt from Akureyri). I also lost the sd card of my camera and they did their best to help me find... More

We arrived at reception very early in the morning and were greeted by a very friendly staff. Check in was not until later in the day, but we were able to leave our bags at the reception area. It was a very short walk to the Cafe Paris where we had breakfast. We had rented a room on the 3rd... More

We only stayed here one night unfortunately, I'm wishing we'd stayed here longer. The hostel is modern, clean and well maintained. We had a double room facing the street, minimal street noise affected our sleep. Its in a great location, close to restaurants and bars and local sights and sounds. Staff are pleasant and helpful and couldn't do enough for... More

My friend and I stayed here, its on a quiet street away from the parties but still close enough to walk to everything. Rooms were clean, had a good view of the harbour. Hostel staff were great and helping in choosing tours and just very accommodating.

I was stayed in the girls only dorm with 10 beds. Rooms were clean, shower was hot and powerful. Nice and organized kitchen, most of the receptionists are very friendly and helpful. Takes about 5-10 mins walk to the centre.
