In a quieter part of Reykjavik, but still really central and definitely walking distance. The room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast good. Breakfast area is busy and buzzy, and tea and coffee ran out at one point, and those wanting a lie-in be aware it is only between 8am-9am. Lovely to hear church bells from nearby Hallgrimskirkja. Hosts very friendly,... More

My family of four stayed just two nights at this conveniently located, easy to find bed and breakfast in June 2014. Though our room was a bit tight due to four beds jigsawed into the room, it provided us exactly what we needed - a clean, bright room that had pull down blinds which we appreciated due to 24 hour... I enjoyed my stay at Eric the Red guesthouse, which is located near a striking church and walking distance to downtown. The owners are a lovely, helpful couple and their pleasant home is decorated with all sorts of art. I liked the meats, cheeses and homemade breads and cakes that were just a part of the generous breakfast served at... More

If Erik the Red was alive and well today he would be proud of the service offered by his descendants in today's Reyjavik. We thought we would be staying in a B&B in Eriksgata in Iceland's capital but no. we were met at the address above and driven in a jeep/Land Rover to our ultimate destination which was a superb... This is a spaceous three bedroom appartment that is within walking distance from Reykjavik city centre. It is ideal for families with children, has a fully equipped kitchen and washing machine. We were two sisters travelling with our children and this was an excellent accomodation for us. When we arrived we picked up the key at Eric the Red Guesthouse... More

The Eric the Red Guesthouse is comfortable, airy, clean and quirky. It's walls are adorned with a myriad of oil paintings, drawings, watercolours - many of which done by the hands of prominent Icelandic artists. So the place is full of life, and not to mention the hosts. This was the key for my stay. The hosts Edda and Rúnar... More

We felt truly at home at Eric the Red. We loved our room and the hosts went out of their way to help us in every way possible. They care about their guests even going so far as loaning coats to guests whose luggage was lost by the airline. We travelled with our 3 children and they were sad to... More

our guests from Nottingham, family of Heather arrived and we were overbooked. our human mistake. We really apologize for the inconvenience they had . We try really to do our best in this house, Runar and myself but we make mistakes sometimes but are happy that it is very rare if we have to transfer our guests to a neighbour... More
