thanks for all the hospitality this weekend... specially the "breakfast to go"... it was super. Staff was lovely and location superb! Everything what a famiy traveling with a baby could want. Easy to find a parking was a big plus.

If Erik the Red was alive and well today he would be proud of the service offered by his descendants in today's Reyjavik. We thought we would be staying in a B&B in Eriksgata in Iceland's capital but no. we were met at the address above and driven in a jeep/Land Rover to our ultimate destination which was a superb... This is a spaceous three bedroom appartment that is within walking distance from Reykjavik city centre. It is ideal for families with children, has a fully equipped kitchen and washing machine. We were two sisters travelling with our children and this was an excellent accomodation for us. When we arrived we picked up the key at Eric the Red Guesthouse... More

The Eric the Red Guesthouse is comfortable, airy, clean and quirky. It's walls are adorned with a myriad of oil paintings, drawings, watercolours - many of which done by the hands of prominent Icelandic artists. So the place is full of life, and not to mention the hosts. This was the key for my stay. The hosts Edda and Rúnar... More

We felt truly at home at Eric the Red. We loved our room and the hosts went out of their way to help us in every way possible. They care about their guests even going so far as loaning coats to guests whose luggage was lost by the airline. We travelled with our 3 children and they were sad to... More

We visited Iceland for the Fifth time and was blessed with beautiful summer weather with up to 20 degrees! Our 2 night stay at Eric the Red guesthouse was wonderfull - as always. It is a fantastic place with lovely hosts, who have the gift to make you feel good and so much at home. Runar and Edda always have... More

After a long 11 days driving round Iceland this was supposed to be our last 2 nights in Iceland however on arrival we were told they had double booked but she would show us to another guesthouse , I had booked a triple room with private bathroom TV and coffee/tea facility . the place we were shown can only be... our guests from Nottingham, family of Heather arrived and we were overbooked. our human mistake. We really apologize for the inconvenience they had . We try really to do our best in this house, Runar and myself but we make mistakes sometimes but are happy that it is very rare if we have to transfer our guests to a neighbour... More

Edda and Runer run a great guest house, in a fantastic location. It's within walking distance of the BSI bus station as well as to downtown, but it's a quiet area, so you're not in the middle of the tourist traffic. Plus it's right next to the Lutheran church on the hill, so no matter where you are in town,... More

My family (me, husband, 11 yr old and 9yr old loved it here!!! The family room was a bit tight but it didn't matter since the owners and place are so terrific! Plus the beds were very comfy. Breakfast time was a total treat; delicious and a great time to chat with guests from all over the world while still... More

While in Reykjavik, I suggest you skip the hotels while in the city and do yourself a favor by staying in THIS guesthouse. Edda and her husband Runar own and run this guesthouse and they do an AMAZING job! Though Runar was away on a ski trip during our stay and I only had the pleasure of meeting him on... More
