I stayed here twice during a trip- on my arrival to iceland and on my final night before returning to the UK. It is a family-run B&B which is clean, has all the basics provided (hairdryers, radio alarm clock, TV in the room and tea/ coffee-making facilities in the communal areas). Wifi is also available as it is in most... More

Although it is slightly away from the main downtown centre of Reykjavik, this guesthouse is a good option if you are looking for great value for money. The rooms are fairly basic and functional, but comfortable, spotlessly clean and well maintained - Wi-Fi is fast and free too. A continental breakfast with cereals, fruit, local breads, cheese, cold cuts and... More

The first thing to be grateful for is that the Flybus Plus (the shuttle from Keflavik Airport) drops you off outside the front door and then collects you from the Guesthouse for the shuttle back. The second thing to be grateful for is that the hosts were friendly and very helpful - they were always very happy to prepare packed... More

who have travelled extensively around Europe on short city breaks for the last 10 years. Don't let the appearance put you off, fairly functional rooms, superb bathroom and shower facilities and a lovely hearty selection for breakfast. For the price and absolute bargain. Would recommend to anyone. Free wifi and a pc in the lounge just another bunus.

Would have been a 10/10 but the building desperately needs some double glazing. Unfortunately we had 2 nights of disturbed sleep , firstly the local boy racers re enacting fast and furious along the drag strip roads and then on the second night woken by driving rain against the windows. If you are a sound sleeper don't let it put... More

Strange entry as it looks like an office building, but we entered a cozy reception area at 8:30 in the morning and were offered coffee and breakfast by the friendly staff even though we couldn't check in. This was such a generous gesture after our overnight flight into Iceland, and we were so so grateful. We were invited to leave... More

Stayed here for technically 2 nights but was more like 27 hours. I prebooked the Flybus+ which dropped me right outside the door. I had pre-warned the Guesthouse I would be arriving late and there was someone waiting for me to check me in. No issues and the welcome was very friendly. The room itself was basic but perfectly acceptable.... More

I stayed at the Guesthouse Borgartun at both ends of my visit to Iceland. The outside is a rather cold looking concrete block building that also houses offices. It is not a warm or terribly welcoming exterior but don't let that worry you. Once inside and then on to the third floor where the reception area is located, we could... More

We have just returned from a 4 day stay at Guesthouse Borgartun. The guesthouse was very clean, quiet, comfortable and provided very good relaxed cold buffet breakfast. Plenty of hot water and powerful shower as you would expect for Geothermal powered country. Guesthouse is very close to the sea front, swimming pool and a short walk from the old town... More

Located on the third floor of what looks like an office block the ground floor entrance references only the travel agent "Gudmundur Jonasson" - don't be put off! Take lIft to the third floor and reception via the breakfast room. Immediately impressed wth overall cleanliness Budget wise this is below what you'd pay at a Travel Lodge and is generally... More
