It's a typical three star hotel and by Icelandic standards provides enough value for the 140 euro spent for a night in a room with a private bathroom. The room was very clean, the two things that I would improve: 1. put a kettle in the room (something that you always expect in Iceland) 2. provide a real double bed,... More

This is a boarding school used as a hotel in the summer. Not an uncommon thing in Iceland as we discovered. Still, it was perfect for our needs. The rooms was clean and the front desk receptionist was polite and helpful. They even had a hair dryer for my wife. If you're just looking for a place to sleep after... More

This hotel feels dated from the moment you set food in it. Your first contact with this hotel is carrying your suitcases up some stairs at the entrance. Why nobody thought of installing a ramp is unclear to me. The whole building looks like it got stuck in the seventies. With long, unwelcoming halls and very basic rooms (no decoration... More

Typical school hostel summer hotel. We booked a private room and got an apartment so had heaps of room to sort all our gear after a week in Hornstradir. Breakfast was varied and ample typical Iceland style. Twin beds were comfy.

We were happy to find accommodation in Isafjordur for a budget price however, we expected it to be a bit better. The hotel is clean, but all the floors are concrete which makes any noise from other guests echo throughout the floor and during our stay, we had very noisy neighbors. Additionally, the doors to the individual rooms have a... More

Hotel Edda is a school during fall and winter and a hostel/hotel during summer. I stayed in "sleeping bag dorm room" (a classroom with whiteboard now with 7 single beds). The bathrooms are school type bathrooms. There is also a lawn for tents and private rooms as well. What is outstanding is the cordial desk staff who are extremely knowledgeable... More

A boarding school during the school year, the dormitory is turned into a hotel during summer. Basic but quite adequate. Everything is a bit small - sink, shower stall, bathroom - as though built for quite young people, but the beds are standard size and comfortable. Wifi only available in the reception area but plenty of 3g if you have... More

In 3 trips to Iceland we have stayed at many Edda Hotels. This one is an older building than all the others we stayed at and it shows a bit. However, it IS clean and in a great location. The staff were all very pleasant and helped us make dinner reservations both nights we stayed there. We would not hesitate... More

Good place for a budget stay in the West Fjords. Excellent breakfast buffet. Bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. Plenty of parking and is an excellent base to explore the area. Ample restaurants nearby

I have visited some better Edda-Hotels in Iceland. The room was not very comfortable - referring to the price, but clean and o.k. for one night. However the echoing hallways are somewhat noisy, especially when people shut the doors of their rooms. The walls of the toiletts (WC) should sometimes be cleaned too. Breakfast was correct. Service was friendly and... More
