Lovely friendly staff, great sandwichy type breakfast - sandwiches in all shapes, sizes and variations! Big, well maintained rooms but extremely hot as they have no AC and the windows only open marginally. Bar, restaurant and health club were closed during our stay (apparently they are often closed??). Saying that, its a relaxed, uncomplicated hotel without any frills. The staff... more

Really liked this hotel. Breakfast was very good and the service was exeptionally good. Even the gentleman at the front desk drove me to the bus station as I was running quite late. The restaurant was closed due to renovation but it was supposed to open in less than two weeks. more

By European standards, this hotel is nice. By American standards, it is a big gaudy, outdated and small. The decor is a bit "out there" and the shower has no curtain...just a half-divider. The beds are small, but very soft and comfortable. The internet is wireless and free, so that is a huge plus! The hotel staff is always helpful... more

This hotel has been awarded 4 stars; however, it is NOT upto 4 star standard (at least what one in most of Europe/North America would consider to be 4 stars). The rooms are cramped, decor outdated, and there is NO climate control. As such rooms are very hot and a lot of the rooms have only very small windows that... more

Stopped over on the way to Scotland from the US. We only spent about 8 hours in Scotland, I would'v preffered to stay in Reykjavic, but it mustn't my jet we were flying. We arrived around 10 PM on a weekday night. We hadn't eaten in about 6 hours since Canada and were starved. The hotel could not recommend a... more

We stayed at the hotel for a single night in early April. Our flight arrived early morning and we were allowed to check in at 8:30 am which was very kind because we could put our luggage down and collect ourselves. The room itself was small compared to other hotels but well kept. The bathroom had a crack in the... more

We booked a new years break in this spa hotel, hoping to enjoy thegym, restaurant, sauna and other failities on offer. Unfortunately the hotel decided without notice to close, giving us a key to the side door, a pile of towels and some cold meat for breakfast. No chance to rebook as it was prepaid and New Year. The hotel... more

We stayed here on the first night of our honeymoon since we arrived pretty late at night and wanted something close to the airport. It is 15 mins drive from the airport and is easy to get a cab to. The hotel lobby is OK but the rooms are very dissapointing. We booked a deluxe room which which very small,... more

By US standards its very average, especially for the money. By European standards its slightly above average, and good for the money. By Iceland standards, its not topshelf, but in the better hotels category. The common areas are very nice, as is the staff. The rooms themselves are a bit cramped for US tastes. The hotel itself is also in... more
