This was a clean, quiet simple option in Husavik. I didn't mind staying here, but on the other hand there wasn't anything incredibly outstanding about it. The room just needed a few tweaks to make it feel a little more updated. Also, the bathroom though quite large, featured an open-style bathroom shower (without walls to keep the water from going... We turned up to early to check in but were given some great suggestions for filling in the day - Dettifoss, Myvatn (the nature baths and hot springs area). The restaurant was open when we returned late that evening and the staff were happy to serve us. Breakfast was good too in the big dining room/ball room with a reasonable... More

For the price expect much more. The positives; Elevator and ample free parking which as we know is a accepted fact in Iceland. The sulphur odour from the shower water was over nauseas (not the management's fault as public water system). But not being able to open a window or balcony door is unacceptable. Very poor WiFi one must sit... More

You just feel like staying in a kind of old-fashioned millatary camp room. Everything is used and old fashon. The carpets on the staircase are completely worn-out and need urgent replacement (see picture). Maybe a total make-over would be good. On the other hand the breakfast was more than ok and the hygiene in the room was also ok.

Hotel Foss in Husavik: nice room and excellent location. East European atmosphere from the outside, in the lobby and especially in the restaurant. However, nice, light and clean rooms. Very good Wi-Fi and excellent shower and beds. Room has electric kettle to make coffee or tea but unfortunately there were no cups (and no milk/ creamer) in our room. Reasonable... More

We stayed there for only 1 night so it wasn't too bad. They only have twin beds so my husband wasn't too pleased about that. It was sort of dark, quite shabby and not quite as clean as I like it to be. The breakfast was decent , the parking was free and they did have free wifi in the... More

We stayed here for one night during our fly-drive holiday around iceland. It was by some distance the worst hotel we stayed in during our holiday. We were in a superior room so were expecting it to be better than the average hotel bedroom in Iceland. despite the room looking like it had been recentky refurbished, the curtains were thin... More

Highlights were the friendly staff, and surprisingly good pizza in the hotel restaurant. Lowlights were pretty much everything else. The carpet in our room was ripped and worn, pretty much the whole room was very dated. The hotel smelled old and musty, but it was nothing compared to the shower/hot water which was absolutely gross (probably not the hotels fault,... More

We stayed one night at this hotel No elevator/lift in our building which of course is not fun with luggage. Internet didn't work -- tried in several areas of the hotel. Finally asked the woman at the desk about it. She said the router had been down for a couple of days. This was strike one. Then found out you... More
