My wife and I had a very pleasant 2-night stay at the Raudaskrida. The setting, high on a hillside meadow in the country, is lovely, and the service was excellent all around. The room was simple, very clean, and very satisfactory. We used the Raudaskrida as a base to explore Husavik and Myvatn.

I would like to first say how world-class this lovely accommodation was in northern Iceland. I was not expecting such world-class treatment, beautiful room and unbelievably delicious food served. More on the food; It was so good I may have to rank the dinners I had here as my top favorite meals I have ever had in my life (and... More

We spent two nights at this guesthouse on our trip around Iceland. The owner was very friendly and assigned us a cozy wooden cabin with a great view of the surrounding mountains. The cabin had a nice seating area that we really enjoyed. Close to the reception building there are two hot tubs that get a lot of sunshine in... More

This cabin style farm hotel is the perfect place if you are looking to get out of the beaten path and enjoy the proximity with nature. There are a few hot tubs in between the cabins and the main reception although I didn't get a chance to enjoy them during my visit and the service was very friendly.

This hotel is located in the middle of nowhere in a very broad valley. This makes that you have a magnificent view no matter where you stand. The hotel consists of multiple buildings with rooms and separate cabins. The rooms are ok, the staff is great and the location just perfect, it even has its own hotpots which are a... More

We stayed for 2 nights as part of our tour. Food was not very good, typical Icelandic breakfast. One dinner of fish was OK. We were in a "regular" cabin but got moved since that did not have two single beds and wound up in a room with 4 kids beds. We complained but it did not good. No one... More

Well, it seemed woodsy for Iceland. Near Husavik, our cabin-style room was large with a lovely view of the countryside. The "cabins" are actually connected with a covered walkway with greenery and flowers. Several open air hot tubs under a roof were close to the cabins. We did not have an opportunity to enjoy them. This place gave me my... More

It was an excellent surprise to get to this hotel, after a whale watching tour in Husavik. We came and in the middle of nowhere found this lovely place to stay. Rooms are very big and beautiful, breakfast was very rich and we recommend going there very much. You will really enjoy it

To be honest I booked this hotel a bit last minute because it was the closest one to lake Myvath with vacancies and I did not have great expectations. We got a pleasant surprise: plush rooms, 2 hot tubes and, like almost everywhere in Iceland, friendly service. Food in the restaurant, both for dinner and breakfast was good but not... More

Family run, very friendly, very helpful. Lovely buffet breakfast,l beautifully presented. Dinner was good but limited choice (not everything on the menu or wine list was available). We were in a lovely, brand new room in an accommodation block just a two minute walk down the hill. Lovely view of the mountains, amazingly well insulated and soundproofed. Could have down... More
