We wanted to get a hotel on the east side of Iceland as we were planning to see the iceberg and glaciers. This is one of the rare option that I found in that area for a reasonable price. I have to say that we were agreeably surprised ! First of all, when I reserved, I booked a room with... More

This place is just simple lodging and it suited our purposes perfectly! We arrived late, after dinner in Hofn and then left the next morning at 07:30am. We paid Euros cash and found it to be a great value. The front desk was helpful and accommodating - very kind & sweet. Some of the previous reviews are a bit harsh... More

We have now stayed at a number of guesthouses in rooms with shared facilities. This one is my least favorite. The rooms are outdated to the point that the walls have cracks with some things covering them and you see the old, stained mattress with just a sheet over it. The furnishings are worn and old. The rooms have no... More

Was a little unsure how we'd find this place as neither Google Maps or our Garmin GPS recognised the address and it also goes under two names which is also a little confusing (a third now looking at Tripadvisor). Whilst driving along just had to keep our eyes peeled & eventually saw the sign saying 'Hotel Jokull' - remember that... More

The room was small with virtually no amenities (such as TV or mini-fridge or coffee maker, etc). However, the room was clean and bright, and I would have probably rated the hotel average but for the fact that it did not have free Wi-Fi (or, indeed, any Wi-Fi) in the hotel rooms.

It is a summer only place I believe. It is 7-8km outside Hofn, so you'll need transport to go in to Hofn. It is really a hostel, with a restaurant and a drinks' licence. The room was newly decorated, clean, comfortable bed and bedding. Great view out of the window of the glacier - hence the name! - and the... More

I was a bit nervous about staying in this hotel because we never stay where we have to share a bathroom located down the hall. However, I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Our room was very basic. It was almost like a dorm room but what more do you need for a one night stay on our way around... More

Well located by the Ring Road this hotel is an acceptable place to spend the night as you head round Iceland. Lack of competition means that prices in season are higher than you think they should be and the hotel is functional at best, but it is clean and convenient. The restaurant was shut when we stayed, but you will... More

Höfn doesn't have many choices when it comes to accommodation, so the local Edda hotel seemed a good option, even if a little expensive. It is clean and correct, rooms are dorm-style (as in many Edda hotels) and breakfast is ok. Free wifi at the lounge, but no computers for the guests. As for food, take your car and go... More

Stopped for one night at Edda near Höfn during a trip in the South of Iceland. The location is pretty good - right by the ring road but in a quiet area, and close enough to the small city of Höfn. Unfortunately the hotel itself was not as good, being closer in quality to a hostel than a hotel: the... More
