This is a brand new hotel with all of the bells and whistles, beautifully situated and very well run. The restaurant was excellent and the whole experience was great. This is a great stop on the Ring Road and although it is a little drive from Hofn the glacier views make it worthwhile.

Stayed in two deluxe rooms for one night. The rooms were connecting, which allowed us to compare them. One room was much larger than the other - quite well laid out and roomy. The other room was so miniscule you couldn't even open your suitcase on the floor. We had to move the case into the other room. Another pet... More

My daughter and I stayed two nights in Fosshotel Vatnajokull with an open view of the two glaciers. Our entire stay in Iceland was in the Fosshotels from Reykjavik to Eastfjords. Some of the hotels could not give us upgrades, still the rooms were clean and the staff friendly and helpful. This hotel was all booked even with our rquested... More

It's a nice modern hotel. The night we checked in, we were told that the restaurant was closed due to an conference/event. Our only option was to drive 12km (one way) to Hofn to eat somewhere there. After a long day of driving, it's disappointing that the hotel guests are not important as the one time conference event. The conference... More

Strange but not uncomfortable room with a weird breakfast bar containing a built in wash hand basin. The waitering staff were clueless bringing drinks and food at such different times that they almost amounted to separate courses. An adjoining table had to ask for cutlery. The breakfast buffet layout was also inconvenient with coffee and milk at opposite ends of... More

The hotel was very clean with a sleek, Scandinavian feel to it. However, the reason I didn't give this hotel a 5 is because the bathroom facilities were awkward. There was a separate room with a toilet that included a very tiny sink. The shower was in a different room. Just outside the shower, there was another sink with a... More

We paid for an upgraded room, and got lucky enough to be given the ultimate suite. It would have been extra, but due to unforeseen circumstances, the staff gave it to us at the price we booked. It was incredible. A second level room with a wrap around view of glaciers and bucolic farms with waterfalls behind them. Amazing. The... More

The scenic beauty from all sides is breathtaking and the property is stunning. Modern and well kept with great service and well equipped and designed rooms. The best amongst all the places I stayed at in Iceland!

We spent one night here on a 17-day trip around Iceland. It was a much nicer hotel than the Fosshotel Nupar we stayed in the previous night. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed a very nice dinner in the hotel restaurant - excellent food, amazing views, and yes - pricey (comparable to other nice dinners we had in... More

We stayed for one night in May, the hotel is beautiful with typical Scandinavian decor, we stayed in a superior room which was very large with a comfortable bed and bathroom. The view from the floor to ceiling window was amazing, the food in the restaurant, much like the rest of Iceland is very expensive but was delicious. We enjoyed... More
