Nice and friendly staff! They mistakenly double-booked the only suite (and we were the second to book, so we did not get the room). They offered to give us the suit at a great discount on any other night, but it did not work with our travel plans. Instead, they gave us a very nice room, at a discount, and... More

Hotel Kea is located in the ideal location for walking around Akureyri. It is right across the street from a great coffee house and just around the corner from wonderful fish and chips. If you walk up to the church above it you have a fantastic view of the harbor area. The botanical gardens is within easy walking distance as... More

We just found this place and it is worth the stay. We had been on the road for a week to see Iceland. It was nice and in the main part of town. We stayed a couple days to see the area. Rooms are nice and a good deal cheaper than most places we have stayed here in Iceland. I... More

We stayed here as part of a package booked by Nordic Visitor and tours with SagaTravel on 23-26th December. Our room sort of overlooked the main shopping street. It is so Christmassy in Akureyri, with lights everywhere so the view was very pretty especially with the snow. The room and hotel are stylish in a minimalist way but very comfortable.... More

Hotel Kea is right in the city centre of Akureyri, next to the main shopping street & just below the church which is a main tourist spot. It takes 5-10 min from Akureyri airport by taxi. Some rooms have sea view & a balcony which is a nice choice. Room size is big enough for 2 people. There is a... More

Hotel was very nice, and beds were very comfortable. The rooms were tastefully decorated and had a nice warm feeling to them. Hotel staff at reception were very friendly and extremely helpful. Hotel located at the top of one of the main streets that had lots of coffee shops, restaurants, and shopping, so excellent location.

Stayed there for two nights in August 2015. It's located right downtown Akureyri with plenty of cute little shops to browse through. Three minute walk and you are by the fjord where you can book a whale watching tour. Staff was very friendly and our room was ready when we arrived. Ordered room service and their food was amazing!! It was the smallest room I have ever booked...ever. It made me laugh when I arrived, but then again, I am only here to sleep. My room was facing the main street and the steps leading to the church. Hotel Kea was a nice hotel in the perfect location in Akureyri. It offered a nice breakfast buffet and the bar was cozy. The hotel was on one end of the main street, which made for a nice walk around town.
