The hotel is nicely located in the center of town. There is very little parking possibilities there. Most parking isis restricted to 1 or 2 hours from 10 am till 4 pm. Since I staey one day and arrived at 3 and left at 11 the next morning I did not have trouble with parking. If you stay more than... More

We stayed three nights at Hotel KEA in late February, when it snowed every day. The room was clean and fairly large with a comfortable king bed and nice bathroom, but it overlooked the street and not the fjord or mountains. There was a lot of noise from the street. We were within walking distance of many good restaurants and... More

We stayed at Hotel Kea in early January. It was the perfect hotel to stay in Akureyri. Right in the centre of town and it was directly on the road leading up to the ski resort which was an added bonus. It is situated right next to a beautiful church (which you will see on all the postcards and pictures... More

Everything about this little old-worldy hotel is lovely. I was given a room overlooking the beautiful sea in winter. The hotel staff were very helpful and - just really nice people. I felt really special staying here. The food in the bar was terrific. The furnishings were charming (not overstated). The hotel is situated so very close to everything -... More

The Kea Hotel is certainly the best location in Akureyri; right at the center crossroads, close to the stores and restaurants. It was clean and well run. Dinner was a bit expensive. On the whole, a good stay.

Do not go to Akureyri as a tourist on New Years. The fireworks are great and the bonfire is fun, but everything is closed. Even the hotel bar shuts down, and I had a cold sandwich for dinner. The front desk staff was little help, although in their defense, everything was closed. The bar wouldn't serve food due to the... More

The hotel has an impressive lobby and is very good art deco design throughout, but it is very tired and not looked after. The room we had was large but the base sheet was torn and the first thing we noticed upon entering the room. The cleanliness was a problem as it was dusty and the shower had years of... More

Excellent location! Just at the foot hill of Akuryrakirkja (the famous landmark church) and right in the middle of all the excitement. Its only a 5 minute drive from the airport too. The hotel premises is well maintained and looks brand new even though its not. We got a room with a balcony facing the mountains. It was marvellous. Not... More

The hotel is conveniently located by the downtown stores with many restaurants nearby. The community pool is just up the hill, close enough to easily walk to. The staff were friendly and helpful - when I had a question about my room and asked a maid, she couldn't help but went and found someone who did speak english; problem solved!... More

I stayed at Hotel Kea for four nights in October. The location is great being close to several excellent restaruants as other reviews have noted. It is located literally at the bottom of the steps of the Cathedral and a short (uphill) walk to the swimming pool and the Icelandair hotel. Getting to the hotel by taxi from the airport... More
