Stayed here for two nights - hoping to see the Northern Lights as it was supposed to be ideal conditions but no sign of them - the hotel do offer a wake up service if the lights appear (we did get to see them in Reykjavik a couple of days earlier). The whole place has a slightly quirky feel to... More

This hotel is a hidden gem located in Hvalfjord, a beautiful fjord an hour drive from Reykjavik. I can’t say enough about it, just loved every minute. It’s in the south west of Iceland so you are close to small towns Akranes and Borgarnes and the famous glazier Snæfellsjokull that is said to be one of the energy sources of... More

Lovely hotel great location to see the Northern Lights although we were not successful this time.Super rooms only slight downside is the limited Dinner menu. And as you are miles from anywhere more than one or two nights would give you little choice of excellent food. This was the only downside and could easily be sorted.. Staff were all great... More

We stayed here over Christmas to try to catch Northern Lights since everything in Reykjavik would be closed anyway. This seems to be a great base for many sightseeing spots (Snaef and Hraunfossar are 1-2 hour drive away). The staff are very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The regular guestrooms are very cute, with the... More

Me & my partner booked the Villa Romance over Christmas. The location is perfect if you are looking for a retreat - the views of the fjord and mountains are stunning and can be enjoyed from the warmth of the hot tub. The villa itself was great - spacious, tastefully decorated & cosy. The only snaggle is that the bed... More

We stayed a couple of nights in this hotel; the staff were very friendly, the food good but the room was let down by lack of attention to detail: there was tea but no kettle and the bed sheets were so thin there were small holes even though spotlessly clean. The location is truly stunning and staying there was still... More

Stayed in one of the villas for two nights. Amazing room with spectacular views and lovely facilities. The private hot tub on our own deck was well used. The service at the hotel was very friendly and the food we had on on one night was excellent. On the second night thee was only the option of a 'Christmas Buffet'... More

We stayed in the Villa Romance for 4 nights. The villa was spacious and modern, yet cosy and warm. The hot tub is amazing, and is permanently hot as it is geo-thermal spring water, as is the shower - fantastic for your hair and skin!!! We ate in the hotel restaurant 3 nights out of 4. The food was fantastic... More

Recently stayed two nights in this bohemian hotel with some quirky features.Food was very good considering and our room had a fabulous view of the fjord.Rooms were very clean but overall impression was of a hotel in need of some TLC perhaps but as with everywhere in Iceland could not fault the friendliness and quality of the service.

Stayed here for 3 nights in the "romance cottage" as part of our honeymoon. Loved it! Fantastic comfy apartment, great hot tub with beautiful views. One night had incredible views of northern lights. Very much recommend. Not far from Reykjavik, would recommend a hire car if possible!
