Hotel Glymur is one of my favorite accommodation in Iceland. It is located in Hvalfjordur (Whalefjord), on the west coast of Iceland, only 40 min. from Reykjavik. It is the perfect place for romantic getaway, and rooms, service and food is just great. The rooms are very special, they´re all on two floors, the ,,bedroom" is upstairs and the ,,sitting... more

This was a special treat for my husband and I had asked for some extras to be ready for our arrival. Everything was perfect and we had the BEST time. The suite we stayed in was very tastefully furnished and decorated, so was the rest of the hotel. The views were spectacular and sitting in the hot tub after a... more

We stayed at the Glymur during our family holiday in August. The Glymur is delightful with amazing views of the Fjord below, the staff made us very welcome and made a huge fuss of the children. The restaurant is of exceptional quality, the only problem was what to choose from the menu. The Glymur is ideal as a base, with... more

We stayed at the Glymur for 3 nights in September 2009 and enjoyed our time there. The Good... An amazing location on the side of a fjord about 1hr from Reykjavik. The hot tubs overlooking the view were pretty special. Free wireless internet access throughout the hotel. The food was above average although the menu was only 3 dishes. Breakfast... more

Located in the middle of nowhere on the slopes of a beautiful fjord, this is a real get-away-from-it-all place. The food's great; the hot tubs are perfect for a drink while watching the sunset; and the staff are among the friendliest I've ever come across. Can't recommend it highly enough. more

I came back to the Hotel Glymur with my family this August after visiting on business many times. The hotel were so helpful and accommodating to my children, the chef even made them special desserts at dinner time with extra ice cream! My 3 children (8,9 and 13) felt very comfortable around the hotel and explored the library upstairs which... more

Have just started and ended a round-trip of Iceland with friends at the Hotel Glymur. I have stayed there before and was welcomed like an old friend. The food and accommodation were both excellent and the friendly and efficient staff did everything possible to make my stay as comfortable as possible. Having stayed in many hotels and guesthouses in Iceland... more

Although it is over a year since we stayed here, I owe Hotel Glymur a review for being such a fabulous place. An airmiles sale gave us the opportunity to spend a weekend in Iceland - something I've wanted to do for years - and some Tripadviser research led us to stay one night in Rejkavik and another at the... more

I have lost count of how many times I have stayed in hotel Glymur during the last eight years and if anything it just gets better every time. The location with its breathtaking view is fantastic, so are the service and the food. The hotel has beautiful rooms and suites and the beds are so comfortable. The hotel is less... more
