Spend three nights in this centrally located hotel. The hotel is tucked into Rewell Center, a shopping mall right in the heart of Vaasa. Overall experience with room and facilities was good. However, there were a few things that make me avoind this place next time. First, arriving to the hotel at 11 pm: the main door was closed and... More

You can not beat the location of this hotel in Vaasa. Just in the heart of the city and a short walk to the sea. The rooms are basic & clean. We stayed at 7th floor facing the market place. You can hear some noise from the street but it didn't disturb our sleep. Very good breakfast.

The location is good - the city is a small one so practically allt he hotels are well located. You have some restaurants available in the same building and a shopping centre too. Rooms are a bit worn out but still OK. Beds are confortable. Table for work purposes and enough of light for late work. Just an average hotel.... More

The hotel was fresh and newly renovated, the rooms are nice. Ask for a room on the top floors, then the noise from the main square will not bother you. This is mostly a problem during weekends. Breakfast was good, better than average S-Hotel standard. The lobby is small and located inside a shopping mall, might confuse some. But the... More

Stayed one night at Original Sokos during a business trip in February. Good and central location with the reception located in a shopping centre...(!) Warm welcome by the receptionist and an average overall first impression of the single room I was given on 4th floor. The hotel is not very spacious and has a low budget standard. The room was... The property is really the labyrinthine, must be correct to think about what should go to reach the destination. Sounds from nightclub, corridors and neighboring rooms were too clearly in the room, "Open office" world of sound. The beds were good and the alternatives to a couple of different types of pillows. The room temperature is too warm and the... More

Over the years we have often stayed at Vaakuna to our complete satisfaction. Now, abruptly, the room felt small and aging. Especially the bathroom with its brown color scheme looked straight from the past decades. Hotels usually treat their customers with various toiletries in the bathroom, little bottles of shampoo, conditioner, skin lotion etc. Not that it means much to... More

Sleep here really often on business trips. Basic hotel as they all are from this chain. Small and old rooms. Slow and tiny elevator. Breakfast is typical Nordic. Service and the staff are pretty standard. Location is excellent as hotel being in the same building as a shopping mall next to a marker square. Bus and a railway station 5... More

Vaakuna Vaasa has a great central location in Vaasa by the market square. I do not know when they have markets in Vaasa, though. The staff tries, some of them, to be helpful. The problem with hotel Vaasa is that they do not (always) listen to the customer's wishes. Breakfast is a good Scandinavian breakfast.

If you are not on a tight budget, try the archipelago room in this hotel. I am sure that you havent seen one like that in any other hotel in Finland or in the world. The room is all over covered with old wood, and it is really decorated like a very old fisherman´s cottage in the Finnish archipelago. The... More
