You can't really stay more central than this in Tampere, its situated just off the main street and no more than 5 minutes walk from the central square and bus station. Despite its central location it almost has a rural feel to it due to its riverside location and the views across the lakes and forested hills in the distance.... more

This hotel is in a great location, with clean, well decorated rooms and some have nice views of the lake. But, why do they try to ruin it with loud music? They put us in the room directly above their nightclub, which goes on until 4am every night. I could hear the music through my ear plugs! We checked in... more

The Ilves is one of the better hotels in Tampere; by some accounts the best. I found it to be perfectly acceptable, suitable for business travel but by no means the epitome of luxury. Location: The hotel is about 2-3 blocks from the railway station, a comfortable walking distance. There are closer hotels, but I was happy with this location.... more

Stayed here for 3 nights in Jan 2008. Very helpful and friendly front desk staff. Room was nice, clean, comfortable, pretty much expected standard for European 4* business-class hotel. This hotel was absolutely lovely. The room my friend and I stayed in had a wonderfully Scandinavian feel with beautiful wooden floors and wooden furniture.
