I stayed at this hotel with my family on a vacation trip. Super friendly staff, great room and good restaurant. Unfortunately we couldn't open any of the windows in the room, the fresh air came only through the airconditioning. As we all love sleeping with at least one window open, this was a major drawback for us.

This is a lovely and interesting hotel in the old prison. Everything is as you would expect in a 4 star hotel, almost. Great bed, nice roo. (Small but it is an ex prison cell). However a few things missing for it to be 5/5 rating: no wifi in rooms, poor quality and small fitness center, sauna expensive and often... More

Nice hotel; a bit out of the center of town but right across the number 4 tram. Nice to get away and relax. Traveled with a toddler and lots of open space to play and especially liked the playroom. Nice staff who were very helpful..........only no restaurants around although there is one at the hotel. Need to take the tram... More

I first caught a glimpse of this hotel when I visited Finland back in 2010 and had decided at that time that if I ever returned I would stay here. The idea of it being an old jail was so unique that I had to experience it. Our flight arrived in Finland at 6am however the hotel allowed us to... More

We stayed 9 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We arrived on the Viking Line ferry from Tallinn, so it was a short 5 minutes WALK from the ferry to our hotel. Quick easy transport to centre of town each day by Tram 4 from the stop outside the hotel (32 Euros for unlimited usage over 7 days - shorter... More

What a nice project to renovate an old jail and convert it into a modern four star hotel! A lot of atmosphere between thick walls, funny clothing of the staff, windows with iron bars, heavy iron doors - nearly perfect jail ... But the only thing ... The restaurant! We have had the buffet on two evenings, including only two... More

The hotel has a great location so there is no need for car to visit city center. But even more than that we loved unique atmosphere and very friendly and helpful staff. We recomend it to everyone who doesnt want to stay in boring and all the same hotels anymore.

We stayed here for 3 nights in Early July. We arrived in Helsinki airport then took the Finnair bus to the city centre. Tram number 4 from outside Stockman's department store takes you right passed the hotel. Tram number 4t takes you into Katajanokka but not directly passed the hotel, but is only a five minute walk away from the... More

The hotel is just a short walk from the main tourist sites. There is a prison theme throughout the hotel which is fun. The bedroom was the largest of any on my recent trip. All the facilities you would expect are there. The pillows were exceptionally large and hard tho! The breakfast was being served in a temporary room -... More

We stayed at the Best Western on our recent trip to Helsinki. The hotel is easily situated on the tram line and is in a safe residential neighborhood. The breakfast was delicious and had lots of choices. Our son enjoyed the playroom and the grounds were nice as well. The only complaint would be the poor internet service due to... More
