Cheapsleep is, in all fairness, a very accurate name. It's cheap and you might get some sleep. Positives: plug sockets and personal lights by every bed. Wifi that works constantly. Easy enough get to/from by public transport. Negatives: The staff are not helpful at all, they have a script that they say to people when they come in and that's... More

Writing this I sure know CheapSleep is just like the name says, a cheap accommodation with all sorts bunking in. As I was forced to "choose" this place, I also had to take the big room with around 20 beds or so. The beds were pretty horrid as were the so-called blankets, the mattress and the linen. I mean it... It seems to be real slim pickings for hostels in Helsinki, which is a shame as its a great city. Having booked later, CheapSleep was all that was available. Location wise its a little out of the centre. At first this didn't seem a problem, bit after a day or so the long walk or waiting for trams became annoying.... More

Having to re-write this review as apparently Tripadvisor says my review is too "offensive" due to what another person said to me at this hostel. Well, imagine how I felt! First of all, I recommend you stay somewhere else. I've been travelling across Europe for 6 months and I've stayed in many hostels. This one by far is the worst.... More

Extremely dirty and rusty showers. Unfriendly bitter young man receptionist, who didn't want help me at all, he didn't want help me to read the map. When i asked him, if he knew about nice places to visit in Helsinki, he just answered me "No, just go outside and find out by yourself". All areas are in one, so when... More

Affordable hostel outside of the main city, is about 40 minutes by a walk from the most important places for tourists. Room we were sleeping in was realty big, the beds were making noises almost every move, so it was quite hard to fall asleep without earplugs. There are not too many bathrooms, but the stay was okay, there was... More

Cheapsleep is a very nice hostel to stay! I stayed in the 18 women's dorm and was very positive impressed! The air in the room was very good - there is a ventilation system which works all the time - so you feel like if you slept in a room with an open window :). The 18dorm was also quiet... More

Linked to many crucial tram and bus routes of Helsinki, very convenient if you need to catch a bus to the airport, peaceful neighborhood, next to Kallio district with lots of bars, pubs, restaurants. Room is exceptional clean, bed is already well made, walls are between beds so you could feel private even if you are staying in the same... More

Location is good, walking distance from the underground, bus stops near the hostel. Grocery store downstairs, couple bars, cafes and pizzerias nearby. Fair price for Helsinki. We stayed in the superior double room. Room was basic, clean and ok if you stay for a night or two. Our room was located near the toilets and showers which were also kept... More

Think it's the cheapest available one I found for my one night stopover in Helsinki. Was clean and modern, dorm beds felt at least a little private due to walls in between. Having reception open 24 hours means that late night/early hours arrivals aren't a problem. Staff were friendly and they also rent out bikes for very reasonable prices (though... More
