I have stayed in hundreds of hotels around the world but never have I slept worse than in this hotel. The room I stayed with my daughter -- who suffers from asthma -- was completely airless and all the hotel provided was a cheap plastic fan. Opening the window made it worse because of the noise and pollution outside. This... More

Stayed here for two nights and enjoyed the experience. The location is perfect, right next to the Helsinki main railway station, the tram stop right in front of the hotel and the buses to the airport leave just across the street. The building itself is full of history, beautifully preserved. The double room is on the small side, but cosy... More

Staff is OK. Hotel not. I had to change 3 rooms because of the dirty mattress. Even the 3rd one (previously checked by the staff) was dirty too.Hair + big yellow stains on the mattress. When checking out and reporting again that this is unacceptable for a 4 stars hotel the answer was: "Sorry, we go to check it. Thank... More

First off I can say the staff at this hotel were friendly and did try their best to accommodate but when our party of work colleagues arrived there were building works going on. This meant being woken up at 5am or 6am every day which is not ideal. In addition my room faced the main street and central station, which... More

Dear guest Thank you for your review. Your kind words about service have been forwarded to our staff. It is true that the street side may be a bit noisy in this location. The opening hours of our restaurants will be reconsidered after summer - your feedback is helpful. Best regards Petteri Vitikainen Hotel Manager More

So do not stay here if you have long days in meetings and the need to sleep. The work started at 06:30 up until 23:30 and being court side the temporary shelter on the roofs to shelter the work from the rain, you find that all smells are withheld including cigarette odours from the builders which either stops you from... I was curious about this famous hotel. It is really close to railway station, i would save time, just cross the street and you are on the train. The house itself is impressive, the stairs are beautiful, and the room hight is gorgeous. But the room I got, on the 4th floor, is not nice. The table looked like a... More

We appreciated the spacious room with wooden floor even if the interior is all in all somewhat worn out. A big plus is also the location: it could hardly get more central. The service was friendly. Breakfast was ok but nothing special.

The hotel has a perfect location in the middle of everything, elegant rooms but in desperate need of a brush-up. Breakfast was delicious and served in the beautiful restaurant. Also Bar Socis was nice with live music.

As usual in old hotels there is that strange smell in passageway. Furniture in room was black with lot of big mirrors. I felt like in some scary movie. Bathroom was so tiny. Probably the smallest bathroom what I have seen. The only good thing is the location of hotel. It's located right across the street at central station.

Dier Viesha Thank you very much for your feedback. We collect these kinds of reviews for future plannings. The bathrooms in some of the rooms are indeed quite small. Our house was build 100 years ago, when guests had different needs. The building is also protected by Finnish Museum Authority, so major alterings can't be done. In the future renewings... More

+ : location (very close to the Main Street and also the central station), cleanliness, ability to choose your own pillow, interior. - : some of the staff (some of the breakfast staff not so polite, more acting like polices that wants to make you feel stupid) and the breakfast overall - bad quality.
