This is a crisp hotel with good finishes and friendly staff. Clean and modern with comfortable beds. Good location near transport, shops and restaurants. Stayed for two nights prior to side trip to St Petersburg, and again on return. Happily stowed luggage and helpful. Great range of breakfast fare. Very pricey if booked at short notice but bargains are available... more

I've been wanting to stay at the Scandic Simonkentta since I visited Helsinki for the first time in 2003 because of its excellent location in the center (and underground connection to Kamppi and Forum shopping centers) and its modern looks. I finally could stay there for two nights in July 2009 with my wife and 8 months old baby thanks... more

stayed there for 5 nights. Very good location and modern rooms with ironing facilities. However: Not really clean, really cold for a Mediterranean citizen like myself (reception said no heat is provided during spring as the Finnish are used to this weather!!!), breakfast is rich but only adopted to the taste of Scandinavian travellers(lots of fish, poor cheese and ham,... more

If walking around Helsinki it seems that you come upon either a Sokos or Scandic hotel every couple of blocks, no your mind is not playing tricks on you. The start of our Baltic tour started at a Sokos, so we decided to end it at a Scandic. The Scandic was the fanciest of the hotels we stayed at. The... more

I stayed here 2 times for work. The location is fantastic if you want to experience Helsinki. The rooms are modern, clean and spacious. Everything is new. The breakfast buffet has a big variety and the restaurant has a great view over the open square. People watching is perfect! Walking to the main street takes less than 5 minutes. Shopping... more

We loved this nice hotel. Found a nice price online and booked it for our short trip to Helsinki. The hotel is right in the city center close to all shops, restaurants, sights etc. Nice rooms, nice breakfast buffet, nice staff. Very nice! Will definately live there again next we go there, if we can get the same nice price. more

Stayed for a single night, chose the hotel for its location and fairly good price. It's very modern, slightly bland, in a great location attached to Kamppi shopping centre which has a bus and metro station. Only 5 mins walk from the central rail station so handy if you want to get the express bus from the airport. I arrived... more

This hotel is in a very central location, five minutes walk from the rail station, main tram stops and next door to the bus station. Despite its busy location and the close proximity of a range of bars and restaurants we found it to be quiet despite having the window open due to lack of air conditioning. The hotel is... more

We stayed here for three nights in July. We chose this hotel because it is a short walk from both the railway station and the Finnair bus. We got a good rate by booking with the hotel directly, and the hotel seemed to represent good value for accomodation in Helsinki. The hotel is very centrally located with several shopping centres... more

I booked a room at this hotel after a friend of mine recommended it to me. Location is very good for vacation traveler like us, though it would be nice if the entrance was sign posted! We couldn't figure out where the reception is, ended up wandering into the building through the floor below, ended up emerging from different building.... more
