This hostel has lots of pluses - neat rooms with space for your gear, a coin operated laundry, luggage store and bar. It's an easy walk to town centre and restaurants or a tram ride if you feel lazy (or have bags!) The negatives for me were having to pay for wi-fi even if it is only a couple of... More

Stayed here for one night as part of an organised tour of Scandinavia in May 2014. The hostel is in a good location, it's about a 10 minute walk to the outdoor market and harbour. We had a twin room on the third floor - the rooms and whole building itself look as though they've been refurbished fairly recently. The... More

If you want to be close to the city center and don't want to spend much It's a good choice. Euro Hostel is located in Katajanokka neighborhood, where you can see nice buildings and Uspenskin Cathedral. There is a supermarket and tram stop in the walking distance. It is also very close to the sea. Rooms are very small and... More

This hostel was in a great location with a tram stop directly out the front and a supermarket just a 3 minute walk away. Staff were very friendly and helpful with maps, tram tickets, fridge keys etc. They also have a laundry on site right at reception which was great. The kitchen was small but had everything you needed along... More

Basic budget place, no frills -- which is fine, but there was a terrible smell (like a pile of old socks) that hit me in the face when I walked into my room, and since the windows can't be opened more than a crack, I was stuck with it the whole night. (Staff wouldn't move me since the place was... More

We stayed here. A bit of a stretch walking from the Olympia ferry terminal with big bags but we managed. A bit far from the centre unfortunately. We were on the 6th floor also which was frustrating and male toilets at other end of building. Rooms were basic and overpriced even for Helsinki

My daughter and I stayed here on our way to another city in Finland. We arrived late but were greeted kindly and all our questions were answered to our satisfaction. I already knew that the Internet was an extra 2 Euros but the staff told us apologetically that the Internet was extra. One drawback is that the Internet can only... More

Considering the other hostel and budget options in Helsinki, Eurohostel is probably the best one. The two of us booked one of the "fancier" rooms for one night, and both of us came out with a positive experience. The room itself resembled a your average college dorm, but much cleaner with a good amount of closet and floor space for... More

Eurohostel is huge--probably 80 rooms--but it functions brilliantly thanks to a wonderful set of staff. They're on hand around the clock, and all speak English; they'll sell you bus passes, postcards and stamps, laundry powder, and point out on the wall map all the nearby places you might want to see. The rooms are basic, but I loved the fact... More

I used single room of this hostel for two days in April. It was so comfortable that the room was so clean and we can use ''morning sauna'' for free. Self-Breakfast tasted also good. Location was not so bad, From this hostel to central of helsinki, it takes about 5 min by tram. It was easy to go sightseeng. Otherwise,... More
