PAN Village Oulanka is set in Sallatunturi and close to Oulanka National park, in Finnish Lapland. PAN Village is situated in southern Lapland obove the Arctic Circle and not far from the Russian border, where ancient taiga pine forests alternate with vast wetlands. The Sami, the native inhabitants of Lapland, fondly call it ‘the flooded country’.Nature treats you to its most spectacular phenomena in summer as well as in winter. In August and September, the changing of the leaves sets the counryside ablaze with its gorgeous red, brown and golden colours and in winter Finnish Lapland becomes a fairy-tale country when the awesome Aurora Borealis paints the sky. Here, in Europe’s wilderness you will discover the virgin beauty of Lapland. In summer, you can enjoy yourself doing all kinds of physical activities
We stayed in 3 different places during our summer holiday in Finland. This was far out the best place to stay. The cottage is very spacious. The kitchen is well equipped. 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 2 toilets and a sauna. I love the interior. Classical wooden style with a modern twist. I could live in this place. Plus is the washing machine and dryer. Just one point of attention: there is no furniture On the terrace Which is a pity in the summer. Reindeer like to rest next to your house or on the terrace when you’re not there. Next to the village you can visit the reindeer park. You can take nice pictures of them in their natural surroundings. You can swim in the lake next to the Sallainian Caravan at 5 min from the village. We highly recommend this place.

This is my second time staying in Pan Village and it is as clean and well maintained as I remembered from 3 years ago. A friend traveling with me to Salla for the first time was in awe when we arrived at how nice the place was. It has a very specious living/dinning/kitchen area. The rooms are cozy and the beds on the softer side but very comfy. There are 2 showers, 2 WC and a sauna so it's adequate for the 3 room guests. I love that there is a washer, dryer, a drying cabinet, fireplace, heated floors and dehumidified room of firewood. The layout is very well designed and the convenience of having everything makes staying here a breeze. A week flew by so quickly and I can't wait to stay here again!

We spent a week in apartment 4b and my entire family and I loved it! There was nothing negative about our stay. The apartment is modern, VERY clean, well-equipped, and very homely. I cannot emphasize how much I've fallen in love with this place. Its location (about 10 km away from Salla) is just perfect - tranquil and very conveniently located next to the reindeer park an a short drive from the ski resort.

Just returned from a wonderful stay at bungalow 14B at Pan Oulanka. The 7 chalets are all widely spaced amidst beautiful nature, and each consists of 4 bungalows. Though we'd read all the great reviews were still very pleasantly surprised upon arrival. Bungalow had great layout, with a huge living with big windows overlooking the forest. Two very comfy sofa's, big dining table, fire place, great kitchen, big TV. Bedrooms were just as tastefully done, mattresses were good; and perhaps due to the very long nights and ultimate quiet slept very, very well. Two bathrooms; which with 2 couples worked very well. Big plus, especially as we touched upon temperatures of -35 degrees!, was the sauna. Bungalow was cosy, warm, incredibly comfy and we felt at home right from the start. Huge plus was definitely also its location. Took wonderful walks in the beautiful snowy woods surrounding the bungalows. Most excursions departed from reindeerpark which is right next to Pan Oulanka. Owner/manager Jussi was very kind and accomodating, and offered free trips to supermarket 2 times a week in addition to regular twice a week busservice from rception reindeerpark. Last but not least: went to the frozen lake, a mere 10 minutes walk from the bungalows, and were fortunate enough to experience the amazing Northern Light! Would definitely recommend the excursions; reindeersleight, snowscooter, husky-safari. Wnt skiing one day as well, all gear can be rented at skiresort, approx 35/45 minutes walk.…

Visited in late August and truly enjoyed the peaceful and quiet surroundings. Long hikes in the well-marked trails on easy terrain. Plenty of berries and mushrooms to pick and as a cherry on the cake: ice-cold fresh water from a natural well nearby. Of particular pleasure was the canoeing trip on river Oulanka alone the sandy shores with ample opportunities to stop for a coffee (you must bring your own, though), swim or sunbathing. As we were first-timers on a canoe, this 6-hour trip on slowly running river was the ultimate highlight of our trip. The villa we stayed at was tastefully furnished with all modern amenities you could imagine and more. The beds were comfortable and rooms spacious. Own sauna a particular plus. With a high-speed 100/100MB fibre wire, it seemed unreal to be connected in this remote part of the world.…

We spent a week in July in PAN village Oulanka in Salla Finland with our children. The house is very well equipped and is decorated very nicely. The location is beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed our stay there very much! I only regret that there was no one at the reception to consult with about activities duieing our entire stay, although we had a phone number that we could call if we needed anything, and they came right away. We highly recommend staying at PAN village Oulanka .

My mother and I stayed at Pan Village for one night, purely due to its availability and us having missed one night of accommodation in the process of booking our 'White Christmas' holiday. It turned out to be an excellent decision to do so! Markus (I don't think he works for Pan Village anymore, unfortunately) was so friendly and helpful in not only organising the stay at Pan Village, but for giving ideas and advice for the rest of our trip also! The accommodation is AWESOME - huge, modern, clean and finally we could cook! It would be perfect for travels with friends, adult families etc...would be fine for kids too, but has a nice laid back vibe about it! Any facilities you could want are inside...multiple bathrooms, washing machine, dryer, fully equipped kitchen, TV, sofas, fire place, and WiFi! It is a short drive into Salla town centre where there are supermarkets and restaurants. Next door also is the Reindeer Park, and nearby is a Ski Slope. We had the coldest day of our trip in Salla! -28! We managed to squeeze 2 activities in while we were there. You could get really comfortable and spend way more than a night here! Highly recommended!…

Very last minute booking, but a really great self catering offering. We stayed for five nights over Christmas and absolutely fell in love with Finland. The people are lovely and the Pan Village is the perfect location to avoid all the cheesy Christmas package tours and enjoy real Lapland. We were only able to get flights into Roveneimi, which was a tricky 2.5 hour drive to the Village, which we also missed the turning for and ended up on the Russian border! Once we found it, after a few telephone calls, the keys were waiting and the cabin was excellent - with everything you could ever want-super fast broadband, Wide Screen TV with loads of UK channels, utility room, sauna, loads of bathrooms, a very useful clothes dryer in the porch, a real fire and a huge new kitchen! And all this in the middle of the Arctic Circle! Salla's two supermarkets are less than 10 mins away, and the Village is 2 mins from the fantastic activity centre for Huskies and Reindeers and 5 mins from the lovely small ski centre. It was really a perfect holiday (even at -24)...…

We visited Pan Village for one week in February 2012. If we could rate this place with plenty more stars for its level of service, we would. Markus really knew how to take great care of us. He was available at all times (in and out office hours) to assist us with anything - rides to the shop, to the restaurant, a doctor's appointment and plenty more. He goes way beyond what is expected as 'good' service. Furthermore, we cannot find any faults in this accommodation. The cabins are spacious, modern, cosy, functional and very clean. There was plenty of space around the cabin for our sons (and us) to play in the snow. We booked husky and reindeer safaris with the neighbours at the reindeer park. The ski resort is at walking distance. Excellent. We were already planning to return before we had left !…

A great spot and accommodation to spend some time with good friends. The log cabins were well equipped and spacious. We loved the log fire and our own personal sauna. The hosts were very helpful with booking our trips. Highlights of this trip, the husky sleigh ride and snow shoe walking which were located just a short stroll from our cabin. Would love to come back and also explore the ski slopes and crosscountry skiing trails!!
