Very clean and staffed with very friendly Fins, this hotel has a sauna in nearly every room.....or you can use the hotel sauna. Included breakfast is very nice from cold cuts to cereals and pastries. Nearly everything except the train station is within walking distance. more

I was in this hotel few times, no need to mention, as usual Scandic with all its services, free internet, great breakfast, there is option for double room with sauna which was just great. Parking was free as well. more

It's a nice and clean hotel although the rooms located at the inner side of the hotel (and looking at the inner courtyard where the restaurant is located) are very dark. Just back from the Scandic usual hotel thing really, rooms were grand, clean but with 2 adults and 2 kids and a buggy in it not much space to move around but perfect as your not in the room much. No nightly entertainment there is a bar area but it is quite enough not many Brits or Irish staying there.... more

Unfair of me, considering that I had more issues with the town of Rovaniemi than the hotel itself, but I just get the feeling that the Scandic along with the area is not set up in any way for Santa-believers and their parents. On arriving at the Scandic it looks very nice from the outside and is right in the centre of town. Once inside the hotel the main public areas were more like a shopping centre than a hotel reception area, glass walls, gift shops and a coffee bar all before you even get to the reception desk. Very standard Scandic hotel. Nice and clean room with normal size for European hotels. Clean and functional bathroom (if a bit small). Only 1 small window that could only partly open.
