Located beside the lake, probably beautiful in summer time. Basic hotel, ok rooms, good service. Hotel was very silent that time and we were only ones at breakfast. It felt inconvenient that breakfast staff was just standing in a short distance from us and just looking at us and talking their own things.

Hotel is nice, located to the shore of lake Kallavesi. Therefore you can say that the location is excellent, but on the other hand it's a bit far from the centrum. Hotel is a bit dated, but this is not too clearly shown and the service is excellent. Best I've experienced in Finland.

I stayed at the Scandic Kuopio for 4 days on business. This is a very nice hotel in a beautiful setting right on the lake's edge. Scandic hotels in small towns, such as Kuopio, are usually located a little bit outside of the center but still not too far to go there on foot. The hotel is located just next to a lake, little bit outside of the town center but still within a walking distance from everything worth seeing. Having stayed in a few Scandic Hotels recently, this is definitely the best. I only stayed one night so did not get chance to see the facilities, only the room, reception and breakfast. I have spent several week-long trips at the Kuopio Scandic Hotel....I was always upgraded and had a room overlooking Lake Khallavesi.....really beautiful. Beds were comfortable and rooms large and quiet. Shower is great, nice & strong! I only wish that they had some rooms with a sauna!
