Great location across the street from the train station. Don't stay in the old section. Spend a few extra dollars and stay in the new section. The rooms are cramped with little room for suitcases. Fabulous breakfast buffet! Classy lobby. Nice staff except for the one clerk who couldn't be bothered to help us with a train schedule and told... more

This hotel is conveniently located for shopping, public transport and business. I chose this location given that it is within 20-25 minutes walk from the convention centre where I was attending a conference for the week. The walk was very enjoyable, along the canals for part of the way. This city is so stress-free in its ambience and very clean... more

Hotel location is very convenient, across the street from the train- and busstation. But didn't see the usual unpleasant people hanging around. Next to a shopping mall with supermarket etc. Streetcars leaving just in front of the hotel. Lobby looked spotless, staff was very friendly. We had a room in the new part of the hotel, on the 5th floor... more

I was fairly nervous heading to the Hotel Opera based on the mixed reviews here. For the price (under $125), it was by far the best deal on my recent vacation. I found the location across from the main rail station to be extremely convenient (without the usual train station vicinity issues) - and only about 10 minutes walk to... more

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at the Hotel Opera. Would I go back? No. Good Points: The location was ok. It was right next to the big shopping centre. It was about 15 minutes walk away from the main strip. There were much closer and nicer hotels nearer. The rooms were clean. The breakfast was alright. The Staff, particularly... more

I dont understand what the other folk on here were doing when they gave this hotel such a negative review, were they staying at the same hotel? We were looking for a cheap holiday just before Christmas. Booking flights with Ryanair not only made the journey there incredibly cheap, but also provided a massive discount when booking directly with the... more

This hotel is centrally location next to Nordstan (Sweden's Largest Mall) and near the Train station. The single room I booked was good and comfortable, nothing fancy. The breakfast was very good. A very affortable hotel. more

Hotel Opera is in a great location. The hotel has a wide staircase and an elevator. The breakfast room is of moderate size, and offered a continental breakfast. Our room was smaller than we expected based on website photos, but it was very functional. We did notice larger rooms down the hall from our room. Our room had a trouser... more

Stayed here for one night after the cancellation (!) of our Ryanair flight home from Gothenburg City airport. Hotel is very centrally located, next to the central train and bus station and near the main sites. We negotiated a rate on arrival similar to the weekend rate, which we thought was reasonable given that we had not been expecting to... more

I arrived on a Sunday evening around 23h00. I parked at Nordstan (not really cheap) and then had to take a 10 minute walk to the hotel with all my luggage. I was "welcomed" by a very rude and unprofessional front desk guy who was more interested in the magazine he was reading then in helping me out. Even though... more
