The originality of the hotel is clear from the moment you arrive with lots of original features and character, making it a very welcoming and friendly place. It is clear that someone has put a lot of thought into every detail, with nice furniture that fits the rooms rather than was just available in bulk. My room was spotless and... More

Like most other reviewers we were blown away by the unique style of this hotel. The location is right by the train station and in the middle of town so is reasonably well located. Having said that parking is a bit of a downside and we had to leave our car in a free parking house quite far away from... More

Well worth a visit. Lots of character. Much better than the usual hotels. Buffet breakfast and evening meal reflect Swedish traditions. Every corridor and rooms are a feast for the eyes! The spa is a welcome treat after a long day!!!

Nice and clean cosy hotel. Good swedish food. Interessting consept with the "Lenin spa bath" on ground floor :) Home-like rooms. Rent a bike and go see the costline. Or take a walk to the old castle. Good atmosphere. Varberg is a small nice town.

We stayed in this cute little hotel for two nights in July. It happened to be the weekend of "Wheels and Wings" (in a nearby town), so Varberg was full of old cars cruising through town. The fun atmosphere continued into the hotel. Decorating the place was clearly a labor of love for someone! Our room was cozy and full... More

We stayed here for one night in July 2013 in preparation to catch the ferry to Denmark the next day. We were a family of 4, and the room we were given was in the loft, and it was 4 single beds, which were fine, however the room itself, was a boardroom for conferences, so there was not adequate covering... This is so different! A nice, cosy place, that makes you feel like you're staying with an old relative, rather than at a hotel. The rooms are very home-like, far from trends and yet everything you need is there. Details everywhere, which is why everything takes longer to do, as you have to look at all signs, pictures and books... More

This calls it'self a guest house and is friendly, helpful and oh so cheerful! No two rooms are the same shape. There are over 15,000 books - lining corridors, bedroom walls and every nook and cranny. Framed 40's movie posters, period announcements, cards and paraphernalia on all the walls. Buffet dinner (very welcome as we'd arrived rather late by train) and... More

We were so looking forward to spending the night at the Gastis and experiencing the Lenin spa, but on checking in, we were told that there was no booking made in our names. Thankfully, I had printed off the e-mail from the Gastis confirming the booking (I had e-mailed them to confirm that they had twin rooms, which I could... More

The whole town was fully booked and we couldn't see a thing because of the dense fog so we were so relieved to find this hotel in the dark. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The dinner and breakfast were included which was a blessing for tired travellers. Good food. The room was so nice, so clean, so comfy.... More
