I stayed at Wåxnäs Hotel between 12-13 of April 2007 and the main reason (except a business trip to Karlstad), was the facts that the hotel was cheap (about ½ the price of city hotels) and it was very easy to access. The hotel is located 2-3 km outside the city center and very easy to find along the highway. The surroundings are semi-urban/industrial and there seemed to be nothing worth visiting in the nearby area.

OK, the hotel was cheap and I did nothing more than to arrive late and go to bed and sleep so from that point of view everything was OK. BUT the hotel is outdated and in desperate need of some renovation, and some attention about smaller issues would be good. First, the room is fairly big and the two single beds were OK, better than in many other places I slept. There is a small TV but only three channels.
