We only had one night at this hotel, but would have been happy with longer. It's right in the centre and handy for bars and shops and as it looks out over the waterways it is central for the Solapromenaden walk which we did. We ate at the adjoining Bishops Arms and had good swedish food. The breakfast was varied... More

Walking distance from the railway station, the hotel itself is very accommodating. The location, the scenery, the staff, the rooms were as expected. Breakfast was alright but nothing extraordinary, although a hotel of choice when staying in Karlstad.

Stayed here for one night in mid July. Front desk staff not overly friendly but we were helped when it was needed. Room was a classic modern one that had great view, but was also so small that for the price charged, couldn't help but feel ripped off. Comfortable but small beds, as expected for this part of the world.... More

We have travelled many times to Sweden, so have stayed in a variety of accommodation, but thank goodness we only pre-booked for two nights. Re other reviews on several issues !. we had an initial problem with our holiday company voucher. 2. The room we were allotted was so depressing with a view over a flat roof and crumbling brickwork.... More

The hotel is indeed in a nice building, in the center of the city. Karlstad is anyway extremely small, so you can walk anywhere. There is plenty of space to park your car or you can just walk to the station. The room was nice, clean and with a comfortable bed. The most disappointing thing was the breakfast, really poor... I stayed here for one night in May. It's certainly a picturesque location by the waterside (hence the title), but I thought I detected a few mosquitoes due to this. Difficult to find the entrance to the hotel as the Bishops Arms pub has bagged the best location, and was heaving with a school re-union taking place this evening. Incidentally,... More

Disappointing stay here. Arrived stressed with the challenges of parking in the one way traffic system, to be advised by the receptionist that we should have come by train. Hotel also wanted to refuse our holiday company voucher - so no warm welcome here! There is a tiny car park that needs careful watching for as you turn left into... More

This is a hotel where you definitely must ask for a room at the back side! Our room looked very good, and the service and everything else was fine, but it was extremely noisy in the street and at the market place near by. We woke up every hour all night! Our friend who stayed in a room at the... More

The hotel has great appearance from the outside. But the rooms where quite noisy when on the front street side. My single room was tiny, like many Scandinavian Single Rooms, but clean and new. So nothing to complain there. The gym was not much either. The reception staff was excellent. The breakfast HALL was impressive. Looks like a ballroom from... More

It takes about 10-12 minutes walk from the train station to reach this Hotel. With broad and smooth pavements all the way up the hotel, you don't really feel stressed to drag your bags. Once you are in, you will realize that its worth that walk to stay in this fantastic Hotel and in the serene environs. The Elite Hotel... More
