We had a large room with a lovely river view (ask for one!). Bed and furnishings were comfortable. Light more than ample. Rate of about $200 included a substantial breakfast. Only minus was the elevators -- very heavy doors, system not self-evident.

I've stayed at Statshotellet quite a few times during the last years, and they always deliver what you would expect. The building is really nice with a touch of old day glory, but the standards are up to date. It is beautifully situated at the Klaraelven river, in the middle of Karlstad. Breakfast is good but not fantastic. Wifi coverage... More

Stayed two nights with a child. First night could not sleep because our room was facing the "Temple" night club at the corner. Were disturbed by strong bass beats from that club outdoor sitting area. Brought it to the attention of the staff - two times - staff promised to talk to the club owner as it is " a... More

Thank you for your feedback! This is one negative thing of being a centrally located hotel. Especially during summertime when doors and windows are open, at our hotel and our neighbors, it’s hard to close out different noises. We have an ongoing dialogue with nearby restaurants/nightclubs to find a good solution for all of us. Best regards Anna Björkenstam Wedberg More

Have been at this hotel several times, and have got standard single room. Normal size room in good condition and cleaning looks good. Friendly staff and excellent bar. Average breakfast, but good space in breakfast area.

A new visit to this nice hotel wher I was promised a superior room. So they called it, but that was the smallest "superior" I have seen. Both room and bath were too small for a grown-up man. I had been there earlier and had a better room, which now was called something else. For the rest, nice staff, clean,... More

Went here for a romantic weekend. I had booked a suite with a balcony over-looking the river. I have stayed at this hotel many times on business, but this was my first time privately. We really enjoyed the room and most of all a bottle of champagne on the balcony watching the gorgeous sun-set. There was some sort of car... More

Stayed for one night in a Superior room. This is simply an excellent hotel. Very nice and quiet. The room was on the small side, nicely furnished, and clean. Bed was great. Very friendly and helpful staff who impressed me with smiles and forthcoming attitude. Every expectation I had up front was met at this hotel. It's so good to... More

Me and my boyfriend was here for our second time. The hotel itself is great so it the pub Bishop Arms. The first time we had a standard double room it was very tiny. This time we had a deluxe room who was very nice. My only complain is that the toilet paper in the rooms is very hard.

Stayed here for 1 night in October, nice looking exterior and bar but the room was pathetic. My company booked it and it wasn't as cheap business class as you could book online for a standard room. The room was not much bigger than a cupboard the bed was a disgrace and the bathroom was small and dirty I would... More

This hotel is located right in the center of Karlstad, next to the main square and the river Klarälven, with all shops and restaurants nearby. There is an art museum with works by Lars Lerin, a fine water colour painter from the area, within a few minutes walk. The hotel is nice and friendly, with modern rooms (at least the... More
