This is a hotel for people okay without their room looking like a Holiday Inn. Hotel prices around town were steep when we were visiting, and we got a rate below $90 US for a double with bathroom down the hall. The room was very clean, with nice sheets and a comfortable decor. Their breakfast is 50 SEK and well... More

Man, what a deal! A single in Stockholm for 540 kr, with an optional breakfast for 50 kr. You are two or three blocks from a City Bike rack (the best way to get around in Stockholm), a Coop grocery, and a 7-11 which is open super late and has decent coffee. Oh yeah, they also have free... More

I stayed at Abe Hotel for seven nights in April, while traveling through Europe with a cousin. I was immediately smitten by the part of town this hotel is located in... it's called Ostermalm, and is known as a very posh district of Stockholm. The hotel is just a couple of blocks from "SturePlan" which is an area of great... More

I arrived in Stockholm without a hotel reservation late in the afternoon and booked the hotel at the airport tourist office where a rather brusque (untypically Swedish) and harried woman assisted me for a $15 fee. After calling unsuccessfully a couple of times, she recommended that I book the room the A&Be Hotel had available only that night and move... More

We loved staying here in late August 2003! The hotel is conveniently located between Stadion and Ostermalmstorg on the red line, or is a pleasant 10-15 minute walk into the center city. I think there is a bus to Skansen nearby. Breakfast is not included in the room rate, and the selection is fine, but not lavish. A convenience store... More

Staying in Ostermalm

Neighborhood Profile
Ostermalm
With its high-end shopping facilities and Michelin-starred restaurants, Östermalm is definitely the poshest part of central Stockholm. Here you will find Stockholm’s most majestic residential buildings, a beautiful market hall from 1888 displaying gourmet foods from around the world and the Swedish Royal Dramatic Theatre with its awe-inspiring architecture. At night, legendary nightclubs make the perfect location to observe the natives (and those aspiring to become natives of this exclusive neighborhood) in their natural habitat and to enjoy the latest produce of the Swedish house music scene.
