What I appreciated most: the people, the silence and works of art. The people from the hotel: they were always very kind and responded with care to everything I needed. Silence is priceless when I need rest during a short trip. The beautiful works of art, particularly those from the breakfast room gave a me a peaceful start every morning... More

The room is either too small or the hotel did not optimise the space. The small room is fitted with a writing desk, chair, sofa chair and a drawer cabinet. That leaves only a small space for a cabin sized luggage. The sofa chair and drawer cabinet are totally unnecessary. I have to push the furnitures to the walls and... More

Friendly, cosy little hotel in a good location. A short walk to metro. If you like walking, the center is not very far either. Room was modern and tidy. Breakfast was quite a basic hotel breakfast, a bit more to the healthier side. Hotel staff was helpful and friendly. Quality for a good price.

We stayed here for a couple of nights and were satisfied with our stay there. The room was a kind of traditional Swedish room; Wooden floors and comfortable beds. The room was a good size and comfortable for us. The room is by the road but it is not noisy as it is a quiet street. The breakfast was also... More

I've stayed here a couple of nights for a business trip. The hotel is cosy and the reception is friendly. It was very conveniently located for my meetings and also quite close to the central / historical area to the south (Gamla Stan) and to restaurants (I recommend to try Rolfs Kok which is 5 min walk away). The room... More

Pleasant little hotel in a good central location, just one block from the nearest metro station. Because it is on a side street it was very quiet - no traffic noise whatsoever. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast more than adequate for a hotel that size. Bonus points for free coffee and tea in the lobby and helpful staff!... More

Tiny room, child sized bed, no towel in the bathroom. Location is OK and the breakfast is reasonable but not worth the lack of comfortable surroundings. My advice is dont go there, there are better hotels at the same price.

I stayed here for two nights for business and I had a single room on the third floor. The room was incredibly small – had I have a suitcase, then I wouldn't have any place to open it up. The smallest desk i've ever seen. stains on the wall next to the bed. the heated floor system didn't work. The... More

Very nice and quintessential romantic place to stay. Lovely and diverse breakfast, very helpful staff and ideal location. I definitely recommend this place! Also the neighbourhood offers enough nice places to eat or drink something and the center is easy to walk to.

I was impressed with the quality and value of the Rex. Big bed, spacious room by Stockholm standards. Breakfast was the requisite Swedish hotel fare but the bacos was especially tasty and the free lobby coffee a real plus.

Staying in Vasastan

Neighborhood Profile
Vasastan
Vasastan is one of those neighborhoods that almost looks too good to be true. It has the winning combination of a central location, tranquility, and beautiful buildings – housing sophisticated bars and eateries – that makes this neighborhood Stockholm’s most sought-after place to live. If walking through this area makes you feel like walking through a fairy tale or picture book it’s no surprise, as it’s actually the film set of the famous Swedish children story Karlsson-on-the-Roof. No matter what season, Vasastan manages to impress in the sunshine, covered in snow and won’t even lose its charm when soaked in rain.
