Just had three nights at the Rival and mostly it was fine. The location is good, just a 15 minute walk to the harbour/old town and it's reasonably quite as well. The good bits - Reception staff are lovely and very helpful. Breakfast is good with plenty of hot and cold choice and cooked to order omelettes, pancakes etc as... More

We stayed at the Rival for a weekend trip to Stockholm. The Rival was recommended to me by a Swedish friend, and we loved it! Attracted by the connection to ABBA, it did not disappoint. Amazing property with some of the original deco features intact. Always a buzz and live music. Excellent breakfast buffet. In a brilliant location with both... More

Nice peaceful location. Well designed rooms. Friendly staff. Good food (both breakfast and dinner). Some couple were arguing loudly in the corridor outside my room one night, but a quick call to reception and they were silenced quickly and efficiently in less than 5 minutes ! Fantastic response by staff. Would definitely stay here again !

We stayed here after our Northern Lights Adventure in northern Sweden. The reception staff were very welcoming on arrival and we felt that nothing was too much to ask for. We were allocated 2 rooms (we were travelling as a group of 3) and the rooms are modern and very bright - great design. The bed was very comfortable and... More

We spent one night at Rival on a concert trip to Stockholm. Went to see Paul Simon and Sting at Globen and Rival was situated conveniently near the location in Södermalm. If you're interested in interior design, here's a hotel for you - the lobby and the bar are filled with intriguing details and it's just a feast for the... More

We stayed at rhe rival on sunday evening. The hotel and our room was boitique style with lots of little extras that make you feel special. We had drinks in the very art deco bar and ate in the restaraunt over looking the square enjoying excellent service from freindly welcoming staff. If you go to stockholm you must stay at... More

A fun, comfortable place, in an excellent location, - trendy Sodermalm, just south of Gamla Stan. We stayed here for a long weekend. The room was clean and spacious (though we suspect we might have been upgraded - it was quiet season). USB ports by the bed for device charging, and a selection of DVDs and CDs - free to... More

This is a nice hotel, a bit different. I got a very small singleroom with a bed between two desks (on both shortsides) and that is a problem for me with my tall body 200cm. Very friendly staff. The breakfast is a bit small but tastes well and served in a very nice restaurant. 3 or 4 stars??? Ill go... More

5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2015

We stayed for 3 nights at the beginning of March. We had a lovely welcome when we arrived and checked in, the room was huge and the bathroom was lovely. The bed was really big and comfortable. The tv (with access to DVDs) was great too. We rented a dvd from reception on one night, they even brought it straight... More
