We stayed for one night in the hostel and were actually in one of the museum cells. There were only a couple of other guests so no problem with the shared facilities. It was really atmospheric and we had a great time. Clean and although not particularly central it is easy enough to get to. more

I stayed two nights 14-15 May 2009 as part of a busines visit to Scandinavia. The prison theme has been done very well and it feels like a historic building, but he finishings such as the en suite bathrooms are of a very high standard with excellent attention to detail in the small bedrooms or cells - it feels a... more

Only just returned from Stockholm yesterday, and had to say I totally loved the Langholmen hotel and hostel experience. The hotel/hostel is situated on the pretty island of Langholmen, which is a 7-10 minute walk from the nearest metro station of Hornstull. Finding the hostel itself was quite difficult, directions given by the hostel weren't very clear. But once we... more

It's been a while that I stayed in the hostel with some friends, but it's been a great experience. In fact, this is one of the best hostels I've been in so far. While I don't have such extensive experience, it seems as good as it can get in this price segment in Stockholm. When I stayed there, we had... more

Perfect stay at this unusual hostel/hotel. fantastic private bunk bed en-suite prison cell, super clean, friendly staff, top notch buffet breakfast. We'd go to Stockholm again just to stay there :-). 8-10 min walk from Hornstull metro station which is about 4 stops from Central station. more

This is the First HOSTEL I have ever stayed in... I found it on hostelworld.com but booked through the hostels own site as they had more room options and the same rates. Over all this hostel is WELL WELL WELL ABOVE Average! OK... The GOOD. 1. SPOTLESS - Cleaner than a lot of 5 Star hotels I have stayed in... more

I did some sightseeing in Stockholm for about three days, but due to the hostel's availability, could only stay here for a night. Too bad! The hostel/hotel, as you've probably read, is a former prison. They really did a good job in keeping most of the "character" of the prison while still making it a great place to stay (for... more

This is my favorit hostel in Stockholm. Servive is great, room very nice, old prison cells. And it has free internet. Staff is well informed and very polite. Service minded. Langholmen is located about 6min with a bus to centralstation but from busstop to hostel is about 15 min walk. However it is worth it! Surroundings are beatyful and cells (rooms)... more

I have spent about five days in the Langholmen Hostel, which is located in an ancient prison. I have to say the rooms really do look like prison cells (although brand new)! The room (which had two bunk beds) was quite narrow and small, and the windows were quite high . But it was supposed to be that way, and... more

This 'hostel' is fantastic. We booked a two bed 'cell' in the hostel part of the hotel, and were expecting hostel type accommodations, but smaller and sparser. What we got was literally a four star hotel room, 'squished' into a prison cell. Yes, there are bunk beds but in what other hostel would you get a flat screen TV, mirrors... more
