Extremely great position, close to T-Centralen and Stadsteatern, ideal for easy access to Gamla Stan and Norrmalm! Scandic standard, rooms are ok. Breakfast is nice, bar is not that appealing. Restaurant is acceptable,

We were a little disappointed with this place when we first arrived, but once we realised where it was located based on what we paid, it's good bang for your buck. Really can't beat the location of this hotel. If they ever do it up, they'll be able to get a premium for these rooms. We've stayed at many hotels... More

Me second visit here on the hotels last night open, closing two years for renovating. It sure needs that, standard was high, in the 80's. The breakfast is ok, but it was alot of guests so we had to wait for a table, with plate in hand. And there was no clean glasses, and the staff went grumpy when I... More

Very small rooms, little bit tired and definitely in need of refurbishment. typical functional hotel in the Scandinavian way. No concession to comfort or luxury, it does the job adequately. I don't like the thing that bath is open and unpanelled draining through a pipe into a floor drain. Small duvet didn't even cover the single bed width. Heavy doors... More

Generally speaking the chain of Scandic Hotels is good. However, the one I have visited now in Stockholm, is a disaster. a) huge Hotel with a few elevators...a long waiting time...b) I have got the room at the end of the corridor...and it takes approximately 2 minutes to walk,,,may be you can have elevator also at the end of your... Dear Zaza64 I am sorry we were a disappointment to you.If you can't open the window it is not a good feeling and we should have either had a person come up to the room and fixed the window immediately or you should have been offered a room change. As the hotel was built initially there were no public elevators... More

Like your favorite ragged old sweater, the Scandic Sergel just keeps hanging in there, despite the huge holes at the elbows. Or maybe the Scandic Sergel is like the old car in your garage: not worth major investment, but why not see how long it'll hold together using duct tape? At this hotel, the towels still feel nice and warm... More

Dear ReisijaPlaneetMaa Some comments do hurt a bit when reading but nevertheless thank you for sharing. Even though the hotel may have few years of history we have tried to keep up the maintenance and there should be no evident holes or definitely no tape. I trust this was just a figure of speach. Nevertheless you will glad to know... More

Staying in Norrmalm

Neighborhood Profile
Norrmalm
Norrmalm is Stockholm’s most central and busiest neighborhood. It’s home to the main shopping street, Drottninggatan, and to Stockholm icons like the Sergels Torg glass obelisk, the famous Hay Market with its Carl Milles sculptures, and the Hötorget Skyscrapers, a sight on every other Stockholm postcard. Norrmalm is also home to Sweden’s most traditional department stores Nordiska Kompaniet and Åhléns City juxtaposed with Stockholm’s most modern shopping mall, Mood Stockholm. Visitors to this area get to experience the unique Swedish philosophy of protecting cultural heritage while also staying on top of fashion innovation and modern architecture.
