First impression of the hotel was not good - a grey, 60s block. However, inside the hotel was much better although there was variation between the standard of my room (looked new), and my friends' room which looked a little worn. Bathrooms were nice in both rooms, and there was a decent (bookable) sauna. The hotel is not too far... more

Just completed a trip around the Baltic. Stayed in 5 different hotels. This was my only bad experience. And by bad I would say it was very bad. Staff were rude and unhelpful. Room was noisy - barely slept at all. The photo of the outside/door of the hotel is misleading. It's in a grim, grey block, in a badly... more

I've stayed at some very expensive hotels in Stockholm (most right in Gamla Stan) and they were beautiful. But, if you can't afford that but still want to enjoy Stockholm, then Sodermalm is an excellent place to be. The Alexandra hotel is in the middle of Sodermalm, close to Mariatorget and Medborgarplatsen tunnelbann (subway) stations, which will get you anywhere... more

small room, small bathroom, breakfast was ok and the hotel was off the city center though you can get to the gamla stan (old town) in a 20 minutes on foot. there are also nice places to hang out in the surrounding areas of the hotel, the medborgarplatsen is a spacious commercial area where you can buy food at any... more

As mentioned in previous reviews staff wasn’t very friendly – receptionist checked us in with a "I'm not bothered" face on. But since I was staying with some Swedish friends that didn’t really matter as I didn’t have to ask for anything other than checking in. Room we got was big enough (family room I presume) – double bed in... more

I travel a lot, and the manger at Alexander Hotel was the least helpful and rudest hotel manager I have ever interacted with. He refused to accept our perfectly valid voucher issued by our travel agent because he was convinced that it was a fraud. Why? Because he claimed he is the only one who works with travel agents, and... more

So I stayed for 3 nights in the room without a window. Now I knew exactly what I was getting myself in for and I wanted to save money. If you have the extra cash then pay more and get a window. Its not that big of a deal. You are only sleeping in your room anyway. It did get... more

i had a single room without window: the room & the bathroom was small but clean and silent. The window missed me but if you don t pretend a lot it s ok. The WI FI internet was available 24/24 FOR FREE. Breakfast (self service) was ok. The staff ok. I can freely reccomend this hotel. Surely, if you are... more

Having seen some of the reviews on here I was seriously thinking of changing the hotel. However i stuck with my inside single room and arrived with a bit of fear the room was small, but well laid out so there was clean and made effective use of space. I would not want to be based here for a fortnight... more

Alexandra Hotel is now upgraded. Renovating work is completed and the hotel is better than ever, even as the rates still are very attractive. We do apologize for inconvenices caused during the process. We are welcoming new and old customers back to us! /Hotel Management Team.
