I stayed here at the "Nikolaus"-Weekend this december! It is located in the old Stockholm district "Gamla Stan". You will reach everything by feet. If you need a break by walking, there is also a metro nearby. The hotel is very little, but special. The equipment is lovingly arranged. The breakfast is small, but very delicious. The staff is very... More

I have chosen the hotel because of location and 52% discount on Single rooms offered for my dates. I prefer to stay in Old City close to history, sightseeing and the best restaurants. I doubt a little because rooms are so small, but finally I’ve decided that it’s special to stay in the narrowest hotel in Sweden. I wasn’t disappointed... More

I stayed here with my nephew not long ago. The hotel was perfectly situated, in the heart of old town. I have previously stayed at a sister hotel of theirs. Both are lovely. Breakfasts at the sister hotel had a better selection - here they were small, but tasty. Lots of food, just not as many options. Beds were comfortable,... More

We had a weekend visit in Stockholm and needed a reasonably priced hotel with a good location. And that we found! This hotel has an amazing location, the rooms are small but nice. The old ship-theme is lovely and gives the hotel great character. Staff is very friendly. The only downside was a nearby church with bells ringing every 15... More

Located in a seventeenth-century building in the heart of Stockholm, Hotel offers rooms with maritime flair, cable TV and free Wi-Fi in addition to 24-hour reception. The Royal Palace is located 100 m away. Already Drottninggatan, the main shopping street in Stockholm, is a 4-minute walk away. Gamla Stan (Old Town) is a great choice for travelers interested in architecture,... More

This hotel is small, but with a personality. Located in the middle of Old Town, it has a perfect location for sightseeing, and exploring Stockholm. The room was small, but we do not spend a lot of time here anyway. This hotel has a tiny roof terrace, where you can bring a drink, and watch Stockholms rooftops. Very nice breakfast.... More

Friendly receptionists. I arrived too early to check in, so they stored my luggage for me and when I came back later in the evening they had given away my room to someone who was allergic to the carpet at their sister hotel, Lady Hamilton. They asked if I would mind going around the block and staying at that property... More

We stayed at the Lord Nelson Hotel for two nights. The rooms were clean and the service was excellent. The hotel is well located in the middle of Gamla Stan. On the roof was a small terrace with a fantastic view of the city roofs.

Stayed here for 1 night for business. It was a very small hotel and the theme of a ship left our party in a confused manner. Receptionist was very polite and helpful. Would probably not stay here again. Breakfast was sufficient enough and location was very central. Good for a short stay only!

Staying in Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen

Neighborhood Profile
Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest) alleys, which will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. This neighborhood offers a great combination of historical buildings and traditional Swedish restaurants.
