Booked last minute due to availability. The prices were double because of a conference in Stockholm....but the hotel did not disclose this on their website. The room was very small and difficult to move around in with any luggage. There was nowhere to put clothing and plug sockets were not near the bed.....no use for the modern phone/alarm user. Bathroom... More

The hotel is a great budget option if you are visiting the city. The location is fantastic. Soldermalm is a great area to stay in, with great transport links and plenty to see and do in the local area. There is a Metro station one block away from the hotel. Although if you like to explore on foot then the... More

I stayed only one night on this hotel. The room was tiny and located kind of basement (the windows ware high up). Not sure would I say this is hotel but decent accommodation still. Breakfast was good and no major complaints otherwise. Would not stay for longer periods but for a short term decent option with OK location.

Our stay started out a little rocky. We arrived to the hotel after the front desk had closed (around 5pm), using the call box out front we eventually got buzzed in. We stood around expecting someone to come out to meet us to tell us which rooms we were in, but it turned out that they had texted us the... More

One night on a concert trip. Large bathroom, fresh and shiny. Toiletries were ok. Room clean. Window partly under ground level, towards quiet yard. Super quiet, great bed, got breakfast to go because we had to leave very early. One person seemed to do pretty much everything, but she was very much up to the task, email communication worked well... More

Location is good, right in the center pf Södermalm. Room waa very small, it had bathroom and tv with good set of channels. The breakfast was included and it was, to our surprise, quite good. Vread, cheese, ham, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, yoghurt, mysli, and of course coffee, tea and fresh juice. Lastly, the service was very good. We even... More

Very good location. Convenient to public transportation. It was nice to be in a neighborhood and we were able to wonder around and participate in local evening activities. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Short walk to old town and churches. This is a tiny family hotel with about a dozen rooms on the ground floor of a townhouse. The room was... More

Stayed for two nights. Was not sure about the quality of the hotel, but it has been a very positive stay. We were three persons in one room. Totally ok size, big bathroom. Clean, great location, friendly staff. The breakfast is not bad at all, take into count that this is a bed and breakfast place, not å hotel. Would... More

Second time I go to Stockholm and stay here. Yes, the hotel is very small but this is what I like in it. This time they send me sms with door code. This is really cool and convenient. I was dreaming about this blanket with moose ))) The bed is soft and cozy. I sleep very well everytime though I... More

Staying in SoFo & Medborgarplatsen

Neighborhood Profile
SoFo & Medborgarplatsen
Throughout the last decades these neighborhoods transformed from a rather quiet residential area into the birthplace of Swedish hipsterism and became Sweden’s main hub for new fashion labels, independent coffee shops and innovative gastropub concepts. Despite their extreme transformation, SoFo (South of Folkungagatan) & Medborgarplatsen managed to hold on to their residential charm and quietness and became one of the most sought-after places to live among young people in Stockholm. This neighborhood is also home to Sweden’s highest student hall, Skrapan, which used to be the head office of the tax authorities and now combines a mix of student hall and shopping mall with a bar on top.
