Considering price level in Sweden, this hotel offers value for money. It is located in the hart of the city less than 5 mins to the nearest tube station. I had single room, which was clean and equipped with minibar (soft drinks), hair dryer, tv etc. Bathroom and amenities were good. Breakfast was good and included in the price. The... More

This is a most convenientIy located small hotel in the centre of Stockholm. Close to lakes, green areas, cultural attractions, shopping, restaurants, businesses and public transport. Charmingly decorated, excellent beds and breakfast, friendly staff. Would like to find some amenities in room, such as slippers and vanity kit, in the future (as it has been in the past)

This hotel is carried by he staff who gallantly try to make a silk purse out of a sows ear. My room was dirty with a smell of drains. The mirror in the room was cracked and stuck together with tape. The grout in the bathroom was black. Most morning I was awoken at 0600 by refuse trucks and other... More

I like the grandeur of this hotel, even though it may be a tad beyond its prime. The building itself is magnificent, and the atmosphere is wonderfully old-fashioned, with a wood-pannelled lobby room furnished with easy chairs on the first floor where you can sample a cup of coffee (available for free all through the day) while marvelling at the... Returning to Esplanade was a true joy. A most wonderful "old classic" being so fresh! Absolutely lovely and pro Ladies at Reception helped with lost suitcase, storing Christmas presents, cabs, anything! Breakfast is stunning and the night time sandwiches a delight with excellent beer. The gentleman Housekeeper whose name I forgot who smilingly helped me with a last minute laundry... More

Hotel Espland is about to be rediscovered. This hotel has been kept a secret for 90 years. Basically all the original features including marble floors, fantastic woodwork, a great fireplace and maybe most unbelivably, located by the water in the center of Stockholm. It has a Royal Tannenbaum feel, it radiates true charm and it is original. Breakfast - great.... More

At some time I’m sure this was an excellent hotel, but alas that is some time ago now. The positive first, the staff is excellent. I booked directly, and it went flawlessly, as did all other contact with reception. And the location is also very good, central with everything you need within short walking distance. Once you go up the... More

We were booked into the Esplanade Hotel by the local university and it proved a comfortable and very convenient location. Although overlooking a busy road, the hotel is quiet and very tastefully furnished and decorated, mostly in Art Deco style. The reception staff were helpful and friendly and the breakfast excellent with lots of choices of cereals, bread, cheeses etc.,... More

3 night in this hotel while on a business trip. The room was not 100% clean and it smelled like the gutters, probably a old draining system. Small TV, broken key in the mini bar... to make it shot: not worthe the price. Too bad, because this hotel is very well located. It needs to be renovated or taken over... More

This was a hotel desperately requiring the visit and suggestions from one of the UK's TV's Hotel Inspector's . It had been in its heyday a very grand building both inside and out. A lack of refurbishment and small detail to furnishings, decoration and ambience now makes it a little unwelcoming and grim. The rooms are very large but cold... More
