My husband and I visited Stockholm from a Friday to Monday in January 2016 for sightseeing, and chose this hotel because of the good reviews. It did not disappoint. Peter, on reception, is a credit to The Victory, as are the rest of the staff. They really cannot do enough to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We stayed... More

This is one of three Nelson-themed hotels in Stockholm, and is wonderful. The rooms are cosy 'cabins', there are antiques and curiosities everywhere. The staff were outstanding, breakfast excellent. If you want a table in the comfortable bar you need to book.

We had a great time at this roamantic little hotel in the old town of Stockholm ("Gamla Stan"). The service at the front desk was fantastic, Breakfast good. Great location, everything within walking distance.

A small non-chain hotel very close to the subway station of Gamla Stan. Decorated in the fashion of a ship, and that's good because the one-person room is small! :-) But I like it. The room is adequate and nice and very pleasant. The thing which I loved was the glass of port wine and piece of chocolate waiting for... More

I'm usually nervous about staying in "characterful" hotels as I keep expecting them to be a bit shambolic and I prefer places which are functional. I only booked here because I got a good deal when I booked my flight. However, the hotel really is lovely and charming. My single room was a little small but not that small (I... More

Staff could not have been nicer. Rooms are small and all decorated with nautical antiques. Port Wine and dark chocolate await you when you come in for the night. Great down pillows and comforters. Very clean with lots of outlets and they lend you appropriate electrical converters. Breakfast is excellent and included in the price.

Loved our room, air conditioning didn't work our first day. The desk clerks didn't care to check our problem. The next day we met Peter who saved our remaining days by simply asking if he could check the air conditioning and the problem easily solved. Peter then credited a night, plus Chocolates & Champagne. One of the most delightful persons... More

chose Victory Hotel for location. Arrived in to Stockholm via express train from airport. Hotel is within walking distance. About a 15 minute easy walk. Check in was quick. We had a room facing street with a king bed and small sitting area. If you want modern and new do not stay here. We enjoyed the "oldness" and quirkiness of... More

Stayed 4 nights from 08 August. Being a mere 150 metres from the Gamla Stan T-bana station it is central to most central Stockholm tourist access points. The main thing to note is the chunky street cobbles throughout Gamla Stan and these can be a bit ruthless on wheeled suitcases, so note this. Had room 308 (unrequested), overlooking side lane... Staying in Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen

Neighborhood Profile
Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest) alleys, which will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. This neighborhood offers a great combination of historical buildings and traditional Swedish restaurants.
